Got my date for basic

Got my date for basic, on the 9th of january 2006. Royal engineers, so either at lichfield or pirbright. Pirbright being where i went for RSC and passed.

Any tips, anything i should bring with me that they dont tell us to or any tips in general for me?

Well done, Awalcott.

Some advice I was given by a friend already in was:

1) Keep your head down and mouth shut - be the grey man
2) Buy some kiwi polish and a good cloth/brush
3) Consider taking an ironing board, as you will find that there is great competition for the ones available, not to mention its a good way to make friends fast, as everyone will want to use it
4) An excellent sense of humour, for obvious reasons

Err, I forgot the others, but if I remember, I'll be sure to update my post. Some of them were real good and to do with kit and admin, so try and remember them.

Looks like we could be starting together, Awalcott. Just passed RSC this week for Royal Signals and I understand the next intake for them is around January at Lichfield, too, so could be seeing you there sometime
