American Studies-please remember that ALL things are bigger back home, inlcuding the loony bins!

American History-owing to lack of content the course will be held in the cloak room twice a week for a month!

Wierd degrees-I am hoping to study Basic Goat Blowing with Meeeeja Studies!

Regards

ss

PS I happen to have strong sensible views on this topic. Should you wish to read them then please feel free to post a request :)

Pinched without his knowledge until he reads this from Harry H by myself:

The British are feeling the pinch in relation to the recent London bombings, the threat level has just been raised from 'miffed' to "peeved'. Soon though, the levels may be raised yet again to "irritated' or even "a bit cross". Londoners have not been a "bit cross" since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies all but ran out.

Terrorists have been re-categorised from "tiresome" to "a bloody nuisance", the last time a "bloody nuisance" warning level was issued was during the Great Fire of 1666.

But also be aware that the French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from RUN to HIDE. The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France's white flag factory, effectively paralysing their military capability. The only two higher levels in France are Surrender and Collaborate.

It's not only the French that are on a heightened level of alert, the Italians have increased their alert level from "shout loudly and excitedly" to "elaborate military posturing". Two more levels remain, "ineffective combat operations" and "change sides".

The Germans also increased their alert state from "disdainful arrogance" to "playing dress up in uniform and sing loud marching songs". They have two higher levels, "invade a neighbour" and "lose".

Seeing this reaction in continental Europe the Americans have gone from "isolationism" to "find another oil-rich nation in the middle east ripe for regime change". Their remaining higher alert states are "attack the world" and "beg the British for help".

Finally in GB they've gone back to "pretend nothing's happening" which is just above "make another cup of tea". Lower levels are "remain resolutely cheerful" and "win".

There are some pathetic courses out there, but at the end of the day someone with a degree in Astrophysics isnt going to be worried about job competition from someone with a degree in gravedigging. Unless, they want to become a gravedigger that is.

I was personally interested in American Studies but have chosen to go with International Politics or War Studies instead. I wouldnt count these as pointless.

To chip into the course debate, I study Geography B.Sc. focusing mainly on environmental assesment and management, hydroclimatology and ecological systems. I work farkin hard, both in my studies and in employment to pay for it. To be honest I don't appreciate small minded people slagging off all students. Yea, there are some basket weaving courses out there, that are no use to man nor beast, but you can't tar everyone with the same brush, as so many people seem to do.

Lew mate,
I'll be studying what a lot of people would consider to be a pointless course, and a waste of time and money.
I'm doing Humanities.
Thing is, its only my time and my money that I'll be "wasting" on educating myself.
Can't see anything wrong in trying to better ones self through education particularly if you are studying something that is of interest.

Surf studies might not be everyones cup of tea, but there must be demand for it otherwise there would be no need to supply it.

I just wish to thank you all for supporting me through my studies.

I had a whale of a time watching the Columbo, Murder She Wrote and Diagnosis Murder back catalogues. Making bombs with flamable bottled butane and surgical sprit, letting my creative juices run wild by creating a collage of beautiful ladies on the walls of my room in a marijuana and 2Ci enduced haze, stealing various road signage ranging from the less secured road cones to full - authentic traffic lights. The master of creation..cultivating Magic Mushrooms in my cupboard and also a nasty airbourne bacteria which made many an enemy quite ill, who else can play God? Only students I think. And not forgeting my conquests which included sleeping with a lady with one arm, who can make such boasts here?

WELL CAN YOU!?

Theres always one....
