Hey mate, i have to go see a specialist about my heart 'mumor' on the 16th August, load of rubbish hopefully and was the docters error or my nearves playing up. We will see if there is a problem or not, i dont think there will be.
Then i can go back for RSC late august early september and i am going for REME Communications specialist and so would think i would get on the october quota for training.

What job you going for?

hi yall

Post by gochetty »

hey

bad news today. i was called today to the AFCO to be told that i cannot go For the GEO Tech trade that i wanted to do in the RE.
apparently i do not have security clearance for this trade as i come from the seychelles and i need 3 years residency in the uk.

so i have to choose another trade, and since my visa will expire in september they advice me to take a trade that will get into the army soon and then worry about the trade later. :(
they think if i do three years here in the army, maybe i might be able to get into GEO TECH later.

so i have decided to go for RE fabricator, i will start basic in 22 august now at lichfeild.

i still have do to RSC though and thats in Glencorse on the 8 of aug

at the end of the day though, i feel down , after putting my heart into getting geo tech and going for 5 days aptitude tests and all the waiting, it has finally come to this.............. i wonder what will happen next

anyway life goes on and i will join no matter what.

What are you wearing to the RSC? Shirt & tie and good impressions? Or casual and wait to get the Suit out for the interview?

ii think i will go formal ie: shirt and tie, with suit for interview.
good impressions never hurts.

may get time to change befor the medicals / physical tests

though in video most of the people were in casual.

i ll ask the Sgt at the AFCO when i go for my briefing on friday

bullettooth, u going to glencorse?

When i went to the RSC dressing up for the interview was optional, we had gen mike jackson coming and he wanted a demonstration of the equipment used during the selection so guys had to stay behind so they did there interview in the overalls. Anyway suprisingly most of the chavs did have suits probably for there interviews at tescos :P

No I am going to Pirbright - I think anyway, Broomwood or something train station. Its all in my room and I got a diffused muscle in my calf so I need to rest before monday.

Think I will wear shirt and tie in the morning, and get changed for medical (surely we will have to put a tracksuit/jogging trousers on for this anyway). And then wear suit to the final interview.

i did it

Post by gochetty »

hey
i have passed RSC
after all these months i have finally done it.

however more bad news
i have now been told that i would need a security check to join,
and that may take another 2-3 months
 after making a step forward i make two back.
like i said before .............. i wonder what will happen next

i got some more waiting to do
though they did say that i am garaunteed a job in the army depending upon the security check
so if my visa runs out they may be able to extend it

i hope you guys that have gone for RSC have passed.
wish you all the best

Start basic on 10th October. Was offered like 26th August, two in september, 10th October and 7th November, but went for October due to my works Notice period.

Just keep positive gochetty, and it seems their are shit loads of intakes for RE.

who knows? small world, small army. :D

though i wish to thanks most of the people on this forum, as without some of the advises to others that i have been able to read from the various posts, i would not have been as prepared for the recruiting phases and tests as i am now. :)
