Good?

I think it is, and will be good to develop that part of London.

right thats you on my shit list Mark

Id have preferred Paris, as the French need a hand up as they get fark all from the rest of the world...poor barstewards   Apparantly what swung is it was both nations had to demostrate anti-terrorist drills to the IOC, Britain sent the SAS and SBS in and two minutes later all targets were sorted and Denise Lewis was getting spit roasted in the sand jump.
Paris sent in their lads and the first assaulter fell and broke a nail so they all whipped out their last resort secret weapons.......

Its brilliant news. Are we happy as a nation we have won the right to stage the Olympics? Or are we just happy to beat the French?

It will be great for British sport over the next few decades with the stadia and facilities that will be left. But I`d just like to
thank Chirac for single-handedly losing it for this nation, which is a big shame as Paris wanted it more and probably deserved it
more, although Paris has no concept of road traffic management.

Well done Coe, you tory bastard! You`ve only gone and done it! :)

I dont know what to make of it. Im not really interested in the Olympics itself but its good to here that we've got it. Then again, it could mean that more money is diverted into London from the rest of the country while the chances are that we will be left with a debt to pay off.

Euro 96 was successful, as were the commonwealth games in Manchester, so I suppose we should be optimistic about it. London probably needs something to look forward to after the events over the last few days.

Two members of the IOC were Finnish, London won 54-50. In the event of a dead heat the president casts the deciding vote, he prefered Paris.

Thanks Chirac!!!! :P :D :o
