oh here we go "the yet to join's" are now going to rip apart blokes who have tried and compare a one hour TV program to basic training.

I watched it and thought it was good for entertainment but crap otherwise.

I personally thought it was crap. Once you’ve seen one of these "are you tough enough" things you’ve seem them all.

Plus that little sgt got on my nerves.

I thought it was ok, that little sgt got on my nerves though, find it hard after only doing 5 years he reached that rank. One of me section commanders in my platoon also doubts that Bear was in the SAS at such a young age, he must of been 19 or something by reading what it said about him on the C4 website. Pretty much the same as Tough Enough, will give it another go though to see how it plays out.

yeah from what they said about him on the webstite i though he was suprisingly young for SAS

but channel 4 would have chacked him out surely

I wanted to watch it but missed it as I was on top of Yes Tor on Dartmoor doing a guided walk with some posh buggers from London who were amazed at the sight of so much shit!!

There seems to be a big helicopter exercise on at the moment, to which you hear jokes such as:

"Oh Rose Darling....is that daddy in his helicopter coming to pick you up?"

Got them back at 01.30am and then up at 05.30am this morning for a days kayaking!! Lovely!

He was TA SAS, a great feat in its own right but I doubt many of that age pass regular selection. Not down to effort, moreso maturity and experience from my partial "outside looking in" knowledge. Still you cant take away the fact he scaled Everest at 23,

I did it at 14 though, we were having patio windows put in at the time (Oh come on think about it, its a tad funny at least!)

Coat, here boy........ :o

dont get me wrong i have a hell of a lot of respect for TA SAS , but that website was so misguiding, it actually lets on that he was regular SAS, when it talks about stuff like his army career being over due to a broken back

like he had to look for a new vocation

Well its PR and the SF bandwagon at work mate.

I once was present at a talk by Sir Ranulph Fiennes, top bloke and full respect to him, but he claims he was ex SAS and he wasnt, got booted during slection for being a bit of a naughty boy.

Great talk though and top bloke, I bought his book and had it signed, as he was scribbling he spotted my shoes of all things and said "you must be ex Army?" " Navy actually Sir, look clean hands aswell!" "he laughed and invited me to sit next to him and pass him the books as he signed away. My boss at the time was a complete chopper and when his turn came he gave me a right dirty look. I thought "what the fark" Im only sat passing books! My boss was ex-failed at everything and hated the military.

Ranulph (first names now you see  ) gave me his book for free, good job really as it was £17 quid and I left it in the hotel room and it was pinched!
