At the end of the day each stage of the recruitment process is part of the “job interview”. And with the current climate of recruitment you need to make yourself stand out. If you have got a suit, wear it! At a minimum shirt and tie, shoes gleaming.

You will may well see people turn up in jeans/trainers and unshaven and they may well do well on the test’s but that doesn’t mean that they are going to get put forward or get the trade they want.

I'v got to agree with macster. A smart suit with shoes will make a very good impression, especially over jeans and trainers.

actually i went to the tests in a suit but that was unnecessary, jeans and trainers would have done as they only expect you to dress smart for the formal interview the week after, no harm done tho as i did show effort.

cheers guys

Everytime I've been to the AFCO ive worn a suit and tie, as was said it is all one long job interview.

Doesnt matter weither your going to be there for an hour or all day, look smart and clean, the impression you give of yourself is very important.

And you think they won't remember the effort that you made? :)

AFCO Dress Codes

Smart as a carrot and twice as nice is always the best policy where afco is concerned:- the staff will always make a mental note if someone makes the effort rather than turning up in their scruffies!
