Heights
im quite ashamed of this but its need straightening out im due for prmc soon and im scared of heights slightly. im worried its going to fail me from becoming a marine because of it, its sumthin ive never been happy with and i dont like roller coasters an this is due to the heights u travel ive been on my local field were there are changing room huts for the footballers and these are about 15ft high so i have been trying to acusstom myself to heights by climbing these and walking along etc to build my confidence up, im fine gettin on to things of great height its just the thought of when going down that scares me incase i break my leg or sumthin horrible goes wrong when looking down at the ground this is when i get nervous and i kno on assault course there is rope climbing an im worried about how im going to react to the drop below. anyone reccomend anything theyve done in a similar situation

I shouldn't worry about it, when you've got nod killer screaming at you, you'll generally tend to do what he says..

heights never used to bother me i used to do abseiling etc and would never get scared, but then as i got older i think i got more aware of what i was doing and then wen i joined the Army Cadets i went to my 1st Adventure weekend and couldnt do the Abseiling lol, BUT the next day i just went for it and managed to do it with a bit of difficulty and the more i seem to do it the better it gets

I didn't know I had a fear of heights until my first adventure training weekend during basic.. I was on the wrong side of a viaduct wall 100 n odd feet up with a daft little plastic helmet on and only a few inches of rope in my grasp... On top of this my cadre staff, including troop OC decided to start taking the p**s out of me (not just me, but it felt like it at the time!!) so I thought Screw you, and just jumped backwards into oblivion,... actually it was brilliant, you never forget your first time. It didn't cure me of my fear, but i proved to myself I could overcome it.
Next up was another abseil, this time into a 300 foot hole somewhere in the lake district but this time you only had a wall for the first 10 feet then it was into space.! We then carried on through the cave system and done loads of stuff that you'd have to pay a firtune for in civvy street.. How often do you get to abseil down an underground waterfall with 15 of your pals doing Mission Impossible tune! Did I mention that my section corporal in basic was at the top of the hole-abseil and he was bricking it more than the rest of us.. In fact his exact words were.. "This is just a fu****g stupid isn't it!!"
The final fear buster was in Cyprus, my first bungee jump.
My long rambled point is that you can live for ever being scared of stuff, particularly heights, but you can master it. I still have a healthy resspect for heights, after all if you mess about with them you could die, but I actually really enjoy high places now. Take it in hand mate and join a rock climbing club or something similar..
You're not alone in this fear, but it can be dealt with.

I have been nervous on heights, but not too bad.
On my PRMC when it got to the high obsticale course part, I climbed up, crossed the first rope without trouble then pulled myself up higher and begun to cross the plank with the gap in between. I was nervous on there and the Sgt Major saw me crossing it cautiously. He screamed at me to go back and do it again. When you have somone shouting at you to go across, you just forget about the height mate, you just go for it without thinking.
It's all confidence at the end of the day mate. I expect once you've done it a few times you will be fine.
