Bleep test Fitness test Standard???

Post by mgk »

Hi

im due to go to the AIB in couple of weeks. I know that as standard you now have to complete the multi stage fitness test or bleep test on the first day. Does anybody know what level is required? and/or if you have to do a certain amount of press ups/sit ups?

thanks in advance

Unless it's changed since I attended (April 04) there is no set fitness test for the AIB. I don't know what happens with the medical for successful applicants as I wasn't one of them, but as far as I know that all comes once you enter BRNC.

This new fitness test has only just been introduced. I did the AIB in October last year and there was no fitness test then either during the board or as part of the medical.

The wording on the Royal Navy website is: "This is not a pass or fail test but you are required to put in maximum effort and your performance will be graded." URL: http://www.royal-navy.mod.uk/static/pages/3187.html

Which I assume means the better you do, the higher your overall score will be, but you will not be failed solely on this test.

I think a call to your ACLO is probably your best bet! Or phone the AIB office directly! The phone number for HMS Sultan can be found here: http://www.royal-navy.mod.uk/static/pages/6195.html

Sorry I cannot give you a definitive answer! Good luck with the AIB.
