Shin Stress Fractures
Shin Stress Fractures
Hey there,if anyone can comment or give advice it would be greatly appreciated.
Im from Canada and am very intrested in coming over to join.Anyways,my concern isnt so much about that as its about my shins.
I finaly went to the doctor for x-rays after about a year of not running due to extreme pain after about 5 steps.Turns out I have stress fractures on both my shins.I also need orthotics, wich will help in preventing this from happening again.
My question is,has anyone had a similar experience or have any idea if weather or not this will affect my application to the service? I wont come over until this is fully healed of course,im worried that they will consider me a risk regardless and deny me entry.
Thank you.

Stress fractures and lower leg injuries in general are common, particularly in training. Rest is good, but you can do other forms of stamina training which are less likely to excacerbate the situation, swimming for example. Any of you guys able to provide an e-mail address for William to get the full s.p.?

To try and stop any future injuries in this context, you should try and get some heel supports from a running shop. They are tiny things like insoles and they give your ankles, shins and knees alot of support. Some of the products on the market are only like £8 and they take up to 95% of the shock away from your ankles, shins etc from runnig on tarmac or hard surfaces.
915 trp every womans pet, every mans regret.

ive bought sorbothanes, those gel f@#k that support your heales and mad green things thicker than your little finger. after one week of increasing my mileage in prep for the aquaint course, after a interval session i thought my legs might snap on the walk home.
went to my doc, he said i have calf strain ( think he is wrong) , comes from running on concrete every day i guess
