On passing the PRMC we were told that you are no longer issued with boots and are given them when you start basic but my mate went a week later and passed and was given some, is it worth buying some so I can break them in before I go back?
Yes gruff, you can use your own insoles. I used sorbothanes in mine and had no problems....well except after wet and dry routine. They tend to stay wet
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming... 'F*ck, what a trip!'

I will tell you the most comfortable insoles for boots...if you have got an old pair of Reebok Classics lying around, use the insoles from them. Made out of rubber and not material they obviously dont absorb any moisture. I find them practical and comfortable. Make sure you get the rubber ones though, not the material ones.

I was in the gym yesterday and was doing some pad work with a mate of mine and one of the instructors came over to me to ask about boxing - how long I'd been doing it etc. I told him I'd been laying off it lately to concentrate on PRMC training.
He then proceeded to tell me how he went to Lympstone on a PRMC, passed but pulled out of training for ethical reasons. Now he's either a liar or he's a prat. Why go to PRMC if you have an ethical issue with the forces? why even go to the AFCO in the first place?!?!
After POC a lot of the lads on the course that passed did say that they now weren't sure if it was for them - not for all people - as there seemed easier and more lucrative ways of earning a crust.
guess you have to really want it.
