I think your parents are right, get a job to take your mind of things. I was depressed earlier this year, but never went to the doctors. I was always feeling down and seemed like nothing was going right. I just changed my lifestyle, stopped feeling sorry for myself and myself sonme goals i want to achieve. Now i have never been happier with myself, its all upto you to change, the pills don't do jack to stop you becomming depressed.

Setting goals is a really good way of getting thigs back on track, even if it's little ones each day/week etc.

Seeting yourself too bigger goals or challenges to begin with doesn't help that much, they seem so far away and you use hope/determination.
Set yourself little ones and as you reach each one, you'll feel that little bit mroe positive and stronger to rach the next one. :)

If this is the first time you have been depressed like this, then you will certainly get over it. You are going through a rough patch thats all ride it out you will be ok. Everyone goes through a depressed stage of their lives.

But if you have always had a tendency to be depressed, I am sorry to say you will always be coping with it. To be able to manage it, it takes time

One thing I suggest is to get one part of your life stable and then everything will fall into place.
