Urgent advice needed!!!!

Post by The JaCkAl »

I start basic tomorrow and I feel like sh!te. I went to the doctors last Monday and they said I have a viral throat infection (f*cking typical). So I called my AFCO and he said not to worry and to go down there, but I have a gym test on Tuesday and I doubt I'll be better by then. I also haven't trained since last monday so I'll be pretty sh!te. I don't know what to do. Shall I go down there and battle on and do really badly? Or shall I put it off till probably next year? as all the troops will probably be full till January.

Cheers guys

Don't want to sound harsh but its your life, so therefore your decision.
I know what I would do if I was in your position, and it doesn't involve staying at home feeling sorry for myself.

Look at it this way, you can go down and infect everyone else, then while they are all struggling with phys, you will have gotten over whatever ailed you and will be flying

tough choice, i would say get on with it, you may as well learn now how to crack on when your not 100%, however, a lad started in my troop with the same problem and a lot of people went down with it very quickly, it nearly cost me a backtrooping, he wasn't too popular for it. your decision but thats just a couple of things to think about.

Do it. It's better to go there not 100% than not go at all. You'll be fine. Don't worry about the gym test, you won't get binned if you have a bad performance.

At the end of the day its your decision. It doesnt matter if you havent trained for a week because your fitness is not going to drop in that amount of time. If you go you risk infecting everyone and not doing your best but you will also show determination and your not going to be ill for the 32 weeks so if you do badly it will only be for a short while. If you every got sent to war or you were still in training nothing is to say that you won't get ill then. I you think that your fitness is ready and you have all your kit then I would go down there with some medication and tell them the situation and get on with the job. If you have msn messenger and would like to talk to me then add Lee48@hotmail.com

Take care

Go down there and just give it 100%, if you have a Doctors note take that with you and give it to the senior bod when you arrive and they will decide the best course of action for you.
Good luck and all the best, John.
