What's the situation with rooms and showers?
Are you given your own room?
Thanks for any help.

I'd like to know that.... but the vids at afco seem to suggest that if you get to cranwell you'll be sharing two to three in a room which shouldn't be a problem unless one of the kids is a proper scally then we'll cop it for tidyness...
anyone seen full metal jacket with the bars of soap in the socks?
Showers? shared I think... just make sure you've tied your soap to your wrist as not to drop it.

Hi,
n the first phase of IOT you will share a double room with another offcier cadet. during this phase the rooms are a little grotty by all accounts but after phase one you move into the grand hall and the rooms thier are very nice apparently and you can ger up that bit earlier for breakfast !.
Showers are shared and I am sure you will have no ful metal jacket episodes, it is officer training you know !.
I got this information from a serving Squadron Leader when I went to Cranwell on a visit. Hope the info helps.
Cheers

So during the first 8 weeks you have to take whats given to you in the room? Or is there some flexability in that you can have some stuff there? Is it ok to bring a laptop or is that something that has to wait until moved into the collage hall mess ?
Im just wondering if say a pc/laptop would be classed as a destraction during the first 8 weeks or not ?

I'll assume that the first 8 weeks is very intence then with the training and sport as well?TJD wrote:To be honest you could probably do with out your laptop for the first 8 weeks and in all liklihood you probably won't get the time to use it. Afdterwards as you start the academic work you may need one.
