Black Watch left today, with bootneck attachments, under british command, not so good but better than the alternative

Its just a suggestion. Not a very nice idea, but you never know with Tony B'liar and his party of bandits :P

I don't know about any polls taken in Britain, but perhaps those would be more telling than a 'Question Time'.
I'm not being funny - do you know what Question Time is?

Exactly Red, I don't know of much polls - but there was one on CNN.com and on my ISP news channel, and the majority shared the view of the above; as well as hearing others talking about it too in person, on this forum and other mil forums too.

How can you really be in favour of this deployment from a military point of view? It leaves the South East Multi-National Div without a divisional reserve which makes absolutely no military sense - whatever happened to keeping one foot on the ground? So now if things kick of in the Basra region in the run up to the elections we only have the guys who are fully operational to put down the trouble, without them having fresh reinforcements to call upon. So no, we shouldn't move them to Baghdad, but equally we shouldn't bring them home yet, we still have a job to do.
Staffords all the way :D

I know what the CBC Canadian version is yes. I don't find them very telling, as the host generally is just a left wing baiter. Maybe yours is better.

Naaaa

He's too busy fending off corruption charges probably.

He once was on a 'town hall' sort of deal, but like any hollow politician, he gave the fill in the blank answers.

When ever I watch Question Time I am left with the feeling that the audience has been specially hand picked, so that they can get the right response to the sort of questions that are being asked.

As much as I disrespect Bush and think we're being led farther and farther into the abyss, I also believe that it's futile to micromanage troop movements from afar. If Brits don't want their troops in Iraq, then withdraw them. But civilians shouldn't screw around with decisions on where to deploy them once they are there.
To think of the future and wait was merely another way of saying one was a coward; any idea of moderation was just another attempt to disguise one's unmanly character; ability to understand the question from all sides meant that one was totally unfitted for action; fanatical enthusiasm was the mark of a real man -- Thucydides

This says more about the American soldier than it does about the British soldier. The Americans cannot hope to win with out the Brits help, the US has taken the wrong approach right from day one and the results are there to be seen on the other hand the Brits are more sociable and have a different mindset towards the Iraqis and have far less casualties.

My opinion on the move is that they should not bale out the US, for various reasons firstly its a political move ,secondly numbers wise the US have more than enough personnel to meet the task and finally the Black Watch are going to get shafted at the end any way.

Dunno what you are apologising for ex-URNU type fella.
This one time, I have to agree with what you are trying to say.
As I said on the "Dark Side" (Subs forum) I'd rather my ugly half had one waiting for him if the day ever came, rather than being shipped home in a makeshift bin bag and gaffa tape job just so that the overly sensitive people of this country didn't get too upset by the fact that extra body bags had been ordered in.
My opinion...if you lot don't like it, tough shyte
