Lance,
Don't give up now!!! I first walked into an AFCO in June 2003, promptly took in my forms, now 14 months later I'm starting basic on Sunday. I've been pi$$ed off waiting around but you'll get there in the end mate. JJ was right, I had to keep bothering them too, just make a nuisance of yourself, that should get things moving. If all else fails you could ring your Regt/Corps recruitment HQ and tell them what the problem is, chances are they will get in touch with AFCO and kick them up the ar$e!!
Good Luck mate and keep at it!!

Yesterday I walked into a mobile army recuitment centre which I happened to be working next to.
I spoke with the officer about joining and I had 2 concerns my age 34 and a ripped achillies, which I had surgery on last year.
He told me I could join up to the age of 54 and my achillies I would have to have checked out etc..
He said go across the road and see our doctor now if you like (for nothing). They were going to do a medical on the spot for me. (I couldn't at the time because of work commitments).
Now that is quick ... I can't believe you have waited a year it is disgraceful.
