Hey All.
I've spoken to the AFCO about joining and got some useful information from them.
I have mild eczema though and I was just wondering if anyone else is currently serving who also has eczema. Just looking for a bit of an insight with managing it.....issues etc
Also, I have passed my A Levels many years ago....so I can eiter go in as NCO or as an Officer.
Just wonder what the best route to choose would be. I like the idea of being an Officer, higher pay and so forth. But I really want to be involved with what I am doing. On the frontline so to speak.
I was looking at joining the RMP any peopel serving....any opinions on that?

It is up to you which route you choose!
With A levels you should be able to make the (academic) grade for Sandhurst.
On the other hand, being a tradesman will offer better job options when leaving the Army - especially as a tech trade! Fast track promotion and best pay there is.
Whilst Officers often do mundane office jobs (imho).
But joining the RMP?!?! You got to be out of your mind - join the real police force!
There is nothing wrong with the RMPs themselves but they must have the worst job of the Army!!!! Apart from those lucky enough to get on a CP course or other sideline job they have.
Being an RMP will not guarantee you a job as a policeman after leaving either.
The promotion stagnates at CPL which is reached rather fast and they are on the lower pay band...
Hardly anyone in the Army likes them (I had a neighbour who was one and he was a brill bloke) but he found the social isolation rather hard.
Prior planning prevents piss poor performance - wait, read the material, think and then go to the AFCO with a load of questions!

join as an officer, you sound like a bit of a toff, so im sure you will fit in just fine 
If you want to see action, get yourself into the infantry, forget the RMP. You want to be a Commander on board a Warrier Fighting Vehicle, in an armoured battalion...thats where the action is.
Get yourself on as many regimental visits as possible, see all the different infantry regiments and which officers mess you best fit into and if you like the other officers or not...after all, your future colegues.
As for the medical condition, the best way to get the answers is to go down to your nearest AFCO or give them a ring. Or even go onto the Army Online Careers Office and chat to someone there.

If you want to join a corps rather than the infantry, that's fine too. I'm convinced mess life would be better in a large corps than in a battalion for the sheer numbers of people alone. If you score high on the aptitude tests, go where the results point. Why not visit the Royal Signals?

I asked the AFCO.....they have said that it is down to individual medical assesment. The website quotes "Active skin conditions can barr entry".
I am just wondering if anyone has eczema and is currently serving or in basic training and what their experience of the recruitment process was....how bad their eczema is etc...
I have it mild.....and dont need cream to treat it.....now and again you moisturiser....lol.....not in a girly way
