This maybe a load of conspiracy rubbish, but I've seen what look to be the official Web Logs.
4 Domains containing the name 'Jessica Lynch' were sold to people unknown about 3 days before War was officially declared.
Some people are under the impression that this was a hearts and mind exercise due to to flagging opinion polls in the States.
I'm dubious but I have to say in this day and age nothing would suprise me.
Propoganda for the TV generation?

Saving private Ryan without the objectivity, relevance, or content - it'll make millions. Still, what do we expect from America? Realism?
And while I doubthe whole affair was staged, I do think the treatment of the PoW's is being exaggerated, I noticed in that picture of pte Lynch "just moments after being rescued" she looks fine, even sems to have her hair in order

Another thing i'd like to add is that since September 11, the Americans have been getting really too over sentimental for my liking. I think it is important we remember what happened and remember those that died in the gulf war but the Yanks take it too far. For example a small town that had one of their inhabitants killed in the war have renamed a mountain after her
. Like i say, remembering our war dead is important, but going around renaming mountains is a just a tad too far for me.

Nothing worth doing is ever easy.
How many mountains are there? How many war dead does the Commenwealth have alone? Definatly a tad too sedimental for my likings. Such as Somalia, 20 KIA I believe off the top of my head and a bunch pulled through the streets by em 'Skinnys.' That was enough to send them packing when they in fact killed what about 1500 somalias. Seems a little lacking in determination to me, wheres the heart??
If a man has nothing he is willing to die for then he isn't fit to live.

I would like to say a few words ...
the lady soldier that had the mountain named after her was Native American ( or American Indian ). Considering the way we treated these folks from 1620 even until today, it was a big deal. She was the first female Native American killed in combat. I am 1/16 Cherokee. As for the Jessica Lynch affair being stage managed...I hope like hell not !! Stranger things things have happened though. The news media have screwed up right and left. The Museum fiasco for example. Come to find out very little is really missing.
The country should have been disarmed from day 1. As for Somalia.. that was a product of idiot politicians ( Clinton and his moron Sec Def ). The war in Vietnam stretched from 1959 to 1975. It could have been over in six weeks if LBJ had bombed Hanoi like Nixon did in 1972 or sent us into Cambodia and Laos like Nixon did in 1970. Politicians cannot fight wars. Soldiers do.
As for 9/11...for God's Sakes ..what if 4 airliners had flown into Buckingham Palace...and 3 other choice sites..How would you feel ?
None of this has been :laola: posted to start any arguments, just to show how I feel..
On a lighter note...they had better send an Army into the Congo that can stop the rampant cannabilism, AIDS, and God knows what else these
"civilized people" are up to. The Geneva convention is a like a kindergarten play in a war like that.

This is the site where I got it from. http://www.nbc6.net/news/2209690/detail.htmlBut now, a British tabloid and a British Broadcasting Company report are quoting Iraqi witnesses in calling the official story of Lynch's capture and rescue into question. A report in Thursday's UK Guardian by John Kampfner, a British reporter who will host a BBC special on the Lynch story this weekend, quotes Iraqi doctors who cared for Lynch as saying the rescue didn't happen the way it was portrayed by the Pentagon and the American press. And the British press is not alone in questioning the "Saving Private Lynch" narrative. Other members of the international media are pointing to what they call discrepancies in the official story.
So what really happened to Lynch during those eight days she was unaccounted for? According to Kampfner, the doctors who treated her say they gave Lynch the best treatment they could under the circumstances, even giving her the only specialist bed in the hospital, which had been heavily damaged by bombing. One of those doctors also claims he treated lynch for a broken arm, broken thigh and dislocated ankle, and that she suffered no bullet or stab wounds, facts now also backed up by Lynch's family. The doctors also said they befriended Lynch and that the relationship between the young woman and the staff at the hospital was anything but hostile.
The Iraqi doctors also told Kampfner that on the day before the rescue, the Iraqi Fedayeen paramilitary forces had already fled the town, and that the American commanders had been alerted to that fact by locals. The Guardian story quotes one doctor, Dr. Anmar Uday, in saying that the Americans were told there were no Fedayeen in the area, but that the troops staged the dramatic rescue anyway, storming the hospital in a blaze of guns and explosions -- including scores of blank ammunition rounds -- in a scene that Uday described as something out of a Hollywood movie.
A military cameraman videotaped the rescue, the Guardian report said, and the footage was heavily edited and fed to the U.S. media within hours. Kampfner reportedly asked the Pentagon for the full, unedited video, and was turned down.
If the Lynch story was part-stagecraft, the Guardian story claims it may have inspired by a master of high drama. Kampfner claims that the idea

I caught a glimpse of a 15 page report today [10/07/03] written by the American Military investigating the loss of the convoy in Jessica was traveling. It would appear that the Humbe that she was traveling crashed into the back of a broken down lorry at 45 mph after being shot at. It was also stated that it was only the prompt medical assistance given to Jessica by the Iraqis that saved her life. One other thing they said in the report that most of the weapons in the convoy were not working due to poor maintenance.
Are there ANY honerable heads of state left out there..... obviously not...The whole episode was staged for the american press/people and now we find it is all fabricated to try and make their ailing triger happy forces look good...... and now, acording to the 1800 BBC news the british forces are teaching Elmer how to street fight, surly they should have been taught befor taking on the Ragheads.... oops sorry Iragis
AnyAmerican forces out there to reply or put their remarks to this incident?
Aye
