I suppose that means that there are a lot of shocked people on PRMC who may never have practiced the pressups Royals way?
Yup.

Thing is that you'll be better at the strict pressups after awhile. I'm absolutely crap at the wide arms ones now. The closer I can get my arms to my body the more I can do. It's not easier or harder than any other pressups, keeping your head up is abit of a chore when you're hanging out your arse though.

Same here, I find the wide press ups harder than normal ones.

Most lads on my PRMC practiced wide arms and were complaining about that but everyone on the forum has got an advantage.

Tricep Stretch
Sit or stand tall, with good posture.
Place one arm behind your head, with your hand facing down your spine.
Use the other hand to gradually push down on the elbow joint, whilst slowly increasing the stretch on the tricep muscle.
Repeat again on the other side.

Chest Stretch
Stand or sit upright and place your hands on the small of your back.
Slowly bring in your elbows, until you feel the stretch on your chest muscles. Aim to keep your elbows high during the stretch, and slowly push your chest out. Remember to breathe comfortable throughout the stretch.

Those came off www.netfit.co.uk hope they help.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming... 'F*ck, what a trip!'

Start Basic 24th May

Damn Dinger, that workout is old! I remember doing it about 3-4 years ago, exact same one. I forget how far I went with it though. :-?

Cheers for those images, I was wondering how many burpees you had to do at PRMC, as there is no mention in the Green Bible of them!!
Or maybe its just used when waiting to do stuff or between exercises?

Cheers

Another good stretch for chest after push ups is to get a broom handle with a wide grip and with straight elbows, and push it slowly behind your head until you feel your chest stretch. No good if you don't have access to a broom handle/pole though.[/quote]

I know this is the marines forum and stuff, but I was wondering if you guys could tell me if I'm doing my army pushups right?

I made a video of me doing about 7, I guess its the easiest way, as explaining pushups on paper is a bit weird.

My arms are under my shoulderd and my elbows stick out a bit oppsed to the RM style were they are tucked in completly.

I can do about 35 now. I usually do 15 every 15 minutes and add 2 on every 2 days. that got my max up 15 in about 2 weeks.
