Paraphrasing QR's

The hair of the head must be kept short and trimmed clear of the ears

I think thats about all it says

but basically

You can't colour it
Sideburns can be got away with to about the middle of your lugholes

They used to say whatever is under your beret is yours but I don't know if that hold true now

From what I remember when I joined the mob a lot of lads with longish hair were worried about number 1 haircuts etc but in the end it was just a very good short back and sides by the camp barber

In fact sometimes a too short a hair cut can land you on the DI's shit list

Does this "camp barber" have a pink robe, prances around to the sound of george michael and drive a suzuki jeep ?

Or do you mean a station barber ?

Well I didn't know that! They're going to have to bugger my hair up completely as it goes naturally square at the neck. :o :o :o

Do you know why this is a rule? Or is it just one those things that you just accept?

I was always told it was minimum of grade 3. You did struggle to get the gel on, if it was anything less !
Sidey competions always running. Getting past the SWO was always the trickiest bit. On Op's it was alot easier.

If you are going to Halton, you'll be given a number 3 all over, but after basic training as long as it is neat enough it will be accepted.

Well I'm joining the Marines anyway but I suspect that the rules will be the same. Queen's Regulations and all that.

My drill instructor said to me many many moons ago

"Is your hair hurting you Airman?"

"No Sergeant" Replies I

"Well it bloody well ought to hurt, I'm standing on it, get it cut!"
