"Torture " photos may be fakes
"Torture " photos may be fakes
This would explain the amazing timing following the americans incident
Assuming their fakes, why did the mirror post them without authenticating
them, they must have known this would cost lives.
And what should happen to the mirror if they published fake pictures?
___
Doubt cast on Iraq torture photos
The paper claims British soldiers handed over the photos
An investigation is under way into claims that British troops humiliated and assaulted an Iraqi prisoner before throwing him from a moving lorry.
The claims were made in the Daily Mirror which carried photos allegedly taken during the man's ordeal.
Sources close to the regiment said to be involved have told the BBC they are not convinced the pictures are genuine.
Tony Blair says that if they are authentic it is "completely and totally unacceptable".
However the BBC's defence correspondent Paul Adams says sources close to The Queen's Lancashire Regiment believe many aspects of the photographs are extremely suspicious.
He says they believe the pictures may not have been taken in Iraq.
They believe the rifle is an SA80 mk 1 - which was not issued to troops in Iraq.
They say soldiers in Iraq wore berets or hard hats - and not floppy hats as in the photos.
They also believe the wrong type of Bedford truck is shown in the background - a type never deployed in Iraq.

I'll second that...
All of their kit looks brand new for a start. Also a lot of the pictures seem very static, its hard to explain but when you see it you realise. Especially the one where he's jabbing the rifle in the fellow's groin.

Mmmmm
And look at the guys lovely clean unfu**ked hands. The first thing to get buggerd up is your hands. Unless of course he is a remf, in which case, where is his sling? In fact where is his sling anyway?
Why are his boots laced up like that? - Not very easy to remove quickly if injured or very comfortable when taking up kneeling fire positions/hard targetting.
Where is his watch?
Those pictures are fakes

Also I've noticed that the bloke who is pi##ing on the supposed prisoner as all his webbing pouches undone, and his pocket on his trousers undone.
Now we've all missed the odd pouch and pocket now and then, but all of them NO. I can't believe that this was a professional British solider, and an Infantry one at that.
If these do turn out to be fakes then Piers Morgan should resign and then be prosecuted. But i've never liked him, his paper and it's Labour loving readers anyway.

The first thing I noticed was the barrel of the gun was wrong.
Now why was this chap wearing his webbing and carrying a gun in what is thought to be his barracks. The first thing you do before you go inside is unload your weapon and you dump your webbing. Do they have to carry a gun to control a bound prisoner, The guy who is allegally peeing on the prisoner is photographed from the right side and has careful lifted his right leg so that you are unable to see his tool. His urine is not coming out in a stream like most normally men it is coming out in blobs as if it is being squirted from some object. Now our boots used to be laced straight across the lace holes so that the medics could remove them with one swift cut from a knife if you where injured, may be this has changed I don't know. When the chap is being kicked there is no movement from him our his clothing but the attackers leg is fully extended. People who take these photo's normally do it to show how clever they are like the American ones, so how come you dont see one face in these pictures

I don't suppose the mirror has thought of the damage they have caused, just to turn out another bit of shythouse paper.
I don't care if it's true or not, it should not have been brought out until every poor sod was out of there, then it could be dealt with. God help any of our lot now if they get captured
I hope the the stupid Wa £$%^% that took the photo's enjoy there pieces of silver.
It now looks more than likely that it's fake pictures, then lets see if anything happens to the mirror.

I must admit I do like the guy's shirt. Wonder how it stayed so clean throughout the many hours of torture and abuse. And his legs are nice and dainty too. Not a bruise on them...
I think Piers Morgan should be hung high from Tower Bridge for publishing this filth. Its inflammatory and downright silly. Upon recieving the photos at worst he should have sent them to the MOD without keeping any copies.

Ofcourse every Iraqi looking for some quick cash will be making claims like this now, not to mention the obvious backlash this will have. I agree with whoever said it there was no need to publish the pictures straight away when they could have waited at least untill the MoD had finished the investigation and determined they were real.
Tab, what did you think was wrong with the barrel? To me it looks as though the flash supressor is open at the end if you know what I mean, is that what you thought or have I missed something else?
