I agree with that, but I just don't like the idea of someone out there thinking, "this is great; I got a right bunch of mugs here. What will I tell 'em next?".

I know what you mean, but if that is the case then he's only fooling himself not us.

Yeah, I suppose you're right. It can be taxing on my limited stocks of maturity and patience, that's all! :)

Lads you're overlooking several simple points. 1) He was there for a weekend so he ran 15 miles twice. 2) For all we know the guy is a distance runner & competes. So 15 miles is achievable. Finally, it's very easy to over estimate distances ran. Unless you measure it with a Pedometre or car or something, it's easy to fool yourself. If he ran 15 well done, crack on. If not fair enough, crack on anyways.

future,

I have to say i have found this thread very interesting not only reading your posts, but some of the regs on this site.

I am still quite new to this site, but I often come on here for tips, advice and encouragement.

I can sympathise with your position, but also, I am slightly worried that you want to join the forces, I mean no disrespect to you, since I dont know you, but I know many "colourful" people and believe me, they have done worst than poke someone in the chest.

Please just read the following, this is not critisicm, just trying to put things into perspective.

You were charged with a VERY serious case, as said before, the charge was not "serious" but the case IS. Stabbing somone in the chest just because they are being a w@#k might be considered a tad extreme.

You respond to criticism and belittlement with instant anger and aggression, you will need to get used to this, in the forces, you will get 10x more, with extras.

On the other side of the fence, I can see that you have a shite past, a name, a reputation that you want to lose, because believe me, once you have a name, the shit will follow you for years (i have a friend in same predicament).

All I will say is:

If you can get into the services, and you really want to straighten yourself out, just grit your teeth, dont lash out, and pass. You will have made new friends, a new you, and you will feel a lot better with yourself, and then you will feel even better when you see the shit you used to be in, and where ud be standin once passed out.

there are only two ways it can go for you. The right way, or the wrong way, you just need to see what you want, and do WHATEVER it takes to get it. You want to clean yourself up. You fight for it, you sign up, you get there, you take the shit and deal with it, you pass out, you succeed in your dream, surely any amount of shit is worth that.

Good luck mate, keep us posted here.
the best,
Rock

f@#k sake made a mistake on my last post i have been "walking" 15 miles a day not running lol i would fu@king die. I'm goin well and i'm keeping out of trouble. If i move away i can do it no problem always occupied but i have to get away from bristol other wise ill go into the same loop as before. I've done alot mindless things in the past and i reckon if i tell the truth i would change some of them, you no people who have done worse mate far as im concerned ive done alot of stuff and the less ive done the better. You have to understand im leaving all my m8s and family. Another good thing im doing boxing again which i havn't done in years (boxed for southwest acedemy) and hope to pick that up and get fit.

cheers Rudi

There's always circuit training. Press-ups, squat thrusts and so on. Dead handy for the modern incarcerate.
