I think you should concentrate on passing out before even contcentrating on specializing, that to me seems to make you a bit arrogant. thikking that your going to pass out that easily.
I never said I was gonna pass out that easily - just that I have something to aim for doesn't mean I've got it set in concrete, or that I'll get in in the first place.

I wasn't being arrogant, just answering a question.

I also hate telling people I'm (hoping) to join the Marines. I feel that they will laugh at a guy who is only 1.5 cm over the minimum height. Mind you I'd love to see any of them attempt PMRC or PJFT before that. I'm a lot fitter than most of them anyways but got a long way to go still.

So aim to get a green beret, before setting you sights on something way more physically and mentally demanding than passing out.
Listen in men give 100% or i will thrash you till your eyes bleed!

Chill out Rambo! 8)

Its ok for peeps to have an idea of what they want to do in the corps.
Everybody knows how hard training is and just because we're here talking about what we'd like to do doesnt mean that we think its gonna be easy.

If you dont like it then your obviously in the wrong thread! As it is about specialisations!

As for the rest you shouldnt feel stupid when you tell peeps what you want to do. I feel proud and couldnt care less what anybody else thinks. At the end of the day Im trying to do something with my life which is alot more than can be said about the retards who will take the pi$$ out of ya! There just jealous and when you get that green beret pay them a visit and see who's laughin then! :fist:

Sorry too dig this old thread up again but as several of you have started foundation, got a date for it or have passed out I was wondering what you might want too do now.
I think that if I make it into the corps I would go for signals.
What about you?

I just want to get a Green Lid and get out on it!! :drinking: Worry about SQ's after a few years doing GD. And as to becoming a PTI, Swimmer Caneoist or ML i think not. I like a bit of phys but god knows i don't want to become a fitness god.

Cheers Ian

Ive just voted for aircrewman. It looks really interesting and taxing and after just completin a gliding scholarship with air cadets, I want to try and have a career in the air whilst being a Royal Marine! To the people who say we're arrogent sayin what we want to do I just wanna say that we all have hopes and dreams and we wanna discuss them, if thats a crime or we're breakin a rule then I wanna see it! Fair enough, training is hard, argueably the hardest in the world, but we all just want to be one of the old timers one day telling stories of there time in the Corps. If we do get through the 32 weeks and get a green lid, isn't it a good idea to know what you want to do with your life? All i'm sayin is just calm down, its only a forum! Sorry if I've offended anyone but thats what i think.

I've said my piece! :D
PJFT - PASS!!!!!!! (But only just!)
PRMC - PASS (19th - 22nd April)!!!!!!! (No more shin splints!!!)
CTC here I come on the 6th sept!!!!!!!!

Bringing up an old thread (using the search!!! :P) instead of starting a new one!

Just wondering what the new users to here are hoping to become if you all are all successful?

Mine's slightly changed since the above post, after my PRMC. I would like to become either a MA, Landing Craft, MG Troop or (if I am good enough), SF.

But I wanna concentrate on getting my green lid first.....then and only then will I be in a position to think about what specialisation.

I always thought I'd like to be an ML or PTI. After all the crap I've been through here, clerk, chef or driver looks almost appealing! I'm looking doing a few years GD hopefully, juniors, see the world and all that, then comms tech or IS, try and get in on the Y Tp scene.
