someone run me through the process

Post by Krupp »

Ok, got my application and despite an uphill struggle with the parents for concent I'm thinking 2 steps ahead. I see once the application is finished and I ring up I get an interview date-could someone run me through the various stages, what they entail and any tips about them from there on in.

Also for the 2 references as well as filling in the bit on the application form asking for their details do I bring 2 seperate actual references written by said people?
Got my application form, now to work on the parents....

Well i have handed my application in. You will then have to wait for a BARB test date before anything else. The references are put on your application form and the Army will send them a letter asking for a reference.

1. Fill in forms
2. "friendly chat" + BARB test + BMI weighing (they weigh you to see if you are too skinny or a fat bastard :P)
3. interview - You have to wear a suite etc, you talk to 2 people and they ask you loads of questions on why you want to join etc. Not really anything to worry about.
4. RMC, this is were you need to show your stuff. (selection)

I think, depending on what you want to do in the army, you have a second interview with an officer after your first interview.

I've just finished the process myself and waiting to hear for my selection date.

Good luck mate!

REME - Avionics

I had my first interview last Friday (on my birthday :-? ) And the Sergeant who interviewed me said that I would usually have to go for a second interview with his 'boss' who's an officer. Luckily for me however, he just said that he'd tell his boss I was good enough so that the officer would write his report based around what the Sergeant had said.

All good fun I suppose. Just waiting to hear my selection date now, should be round end of March hopefully.
