PRMC KIT
I did my PRMC on January 13th-16th. Show up in shoe, smart trousers, shirt and tie.... or a suit. For going to scran and stuff i wore jeans and a fairly smart shirt with the sleeves rolled up... nothing fancy, but then again no one really cares at scran... unless you get the rockburry cap pointin upwards and trakies tucked in your socks... definatley out of the question
Andy_s, i wore the scruffiest pair of jeans imaginable mate, i took the wrong ones, hehe, and i still passed and didnt get picked up for it. So long as you dont have massvie tears in them, and arent 30 sizes to big, then take jeans.

I'm wearing a suit to arrive in and i'm going to take jeans and jean type trousers.
I am confident i'll pass (positive Mental Attitude and all that). I think you need to think you'll pass otherwise there's no point in going down there!

I'm ten days away from basic and I got my kit list for my 32 weeks. It says in the kitlist "Steam iron (NOT a travel iron). I'm not to sure why... maybe travel irons are a heap of crap. But they seem kind of sensitive about it, so I'd take an ordinary steam iron just incase. You dont even need an iron for your PRMC, but everyone has their own ironing board in the new refurbished block, and it might make an impression that you're more switched on than everyone else. No one on my PRMC took one. But I guess it'd be good form to have one anyway. It's up to you really, travel iron beats no iron i suppose!

No problem, glad I could help. Good luck with your prmc. Just remember to give it your all. Dont quit because it hurts, keep going even if you think you've failed. I did press ups untill my arms gave in for me, I had no control over it lol. And when I had to put my t-shirt back on i cudnt do it because my arms wouldnt respond properly
. Just remember the promise you made to yourself before you leave "I will not quit no matter what".

Ah it's no problem. My scores were 42 press ups (I know it was 42 or higher), 55 sit ups , and full six pull ups. I don't know about gymn test two, they don't tell you the scores there but they do have some kind of point system. Just make sure that you move like greased lightning in the gymn, stand to attention whenever you talk to one of the staff/coporals/sargeant major and address them by their name aswell (ie. 42 pressups staff), alot of the lads down there didn't stand to attention when spoken to or didnt address the person he spoke to, and were made to do a bunch of tuck jumps or sprint around the gymn or do pressups. And make sure whatever you do DO NOT fidget, scratch, wipe sweat away, put your hands on your hips or do anything other than stand to attention in the gymn
. Two lads had to do 50 press ups at the beginning of gymn test two because one of them scratched and the other had his hands on his hips. Just pay attention and you'll be fine. Bottom field and gymn test two are the hardest bits, so thats were you need to give it everything you've got. The 3 miler is annoying but it is bearable, everytime you get tired and want to slow down, speed up instead.

You call everyone by their rank... but in the gymn hall the big people with tight black trousers and white sleevless t-shirts trimmed in red, call them staff.
Sleeveless t-shirts? There's no such thing
lol. You'll know them when you see them though, they are BIG and mostly bald too
, although that isn't always the case.
