Is it possible to get a really better chat i say this is the bestest one http://www.digichat.com

I thought that was a possibility before the 'shout' facility came on line, but it hasn't really affected the quality of the forums. It has however enabled a quick transfer of information without clogging up the forums with short personal messages, and has reduced the amount of short PMs sent. The chat room may suit individual peoples styles, such as 'Soldierblue', as he tends to respond with what would, in speech, be a natural sentence, but in terms of computer forums is a drain on the system, bearing in mind each post needs memory to produce and store all the gifs and banners etc.I'am thinking that the downfall might be that the chat room might take away some of the effort towards the forums. Any1 else think so?
So the answer for me is Yes, it will benefit some of our members, and anything beneficial has to be good........... or does it?

You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

Personally Cinders, I disagree. As someone who has been a member here for a long time before the chat facility started, it has a very limited appeal. The amount of information posted gets confusing if several people are using it at the same time. I shouldn’t think people will join us simply because we have a chat room, (there are plenty about, if that`s what they want). I think people join because of the forums, where any topic gets as much, or as little, airing as the members see fit. For instance, we couldn’t have this discussion, in this depth, in a chat room. It simply wouldn’t work.
Chat rooms are fine for the "Nice to cu m8" or "Night all" type of posts but the name of this site is militaryforums.co. It does what it says on the tin.
Your point about getting to know people, I would disagree with as well. I’ve got to know people on here firstly, through their posts and then via tonys and phone calls or meeting them, etc. I don`t think I can say that would happen simply from reading what`s posted in a chat room.
However, I am looking forward to getting to know you better, in a nice way of course
