PRE POC 19-20 March
I've been invited along to a Pre-POC being held at RMR London on the 19th - 20th March. It is to include some PT, giving lecturets and having some talks - looks like a POC squased into 1 1/2 days
. Is anyone else going?

Good luck mate, it should help you to pass your POC.scottishmatt wrote:I've been invited along to a Pre-POC being held at RMR London on the 19th - 20th March.
However, a word of warning. If you come across CSgt Dave Hill (ex-reg ML) be sure to call him 'colours' or 'colour sergeant'. Do not call him mate or anything else. He has a bit of a dislike of civvies and will jump on you (not literally) if he is given the chance.
Your PTI might be Cpl Lee Saunders (spelling???). He is a top bloke but has a bit of trouble keeping track of time - if he says a phys session will last 30 mins it will probably be more like 1 hour
Anyway, good luck mate & be sure to post on your return.

This is a cardinal sin with all ranks.... calling a CSM "Sergeant" or "Corporal" usually does the trick as welldannyd wrote:Do not call him mate or anything else
Calling an NCO 'Sir' usually gets sarcastic remarks like 'Sir ? I work for a living sunshine!' but no major harm done.
A lad in my old unit called the CSM 'Mate' - Oh what a thrashing we got for that...... I can hear Cpl. Taff Roberts now in his strongest Welsh accent screaming 'WHO CALLED THE SERGEANT MAJOR 'MATE' ???? WELL, YOU KNOW THE RULES FELLA, ONE MAN F*CKS UP... YOU ALL GET A SLICE OF SH*T PIE'
and did we get it......

Couldn't agree with you more Chester, especially the bit about calling NCOs 'Sir'. If I had a pound for every time I have heard the reply "Sir??? I work for a living" I'd be a firkin millionaire by now.Chester wrote:This is a cardinal sin with all ranks.... calling a CSM "Sergeant" or "Corporal" usually does the trick as welldannyd wrote:Do not call him mate or anything else
