They used to be in London, Newcastle, Liverpool and Bristol. I know the one in Newcastle has ceased to function. Not sure about the others.

R Tp is run from 1 assult group (same HQ as SB)

RMR Tyne have a specific room for the SC ranks to don their bluck suits and flipper's, but dosent really have any liason PSI's.

I think RMR Mersey have one as well.

Most is organised through phoning all the lads who are on the RMR SC ranks list and arranging the time and place for training. The Rtp PSI is based at 1 Assult Gp, and he's the one who would arrange and advise where the lads where to go for their training locally (rather than travel the full length of the country).

R Tp are currently aimimg to double the size of the unit.

Further to my last post. There used to be a PSI - SBS in London (usually a C/Sgt) and a PSI in Newcastle (RMR Tyne.) Usually a Sgt. (That was me in the early 70's.) The guy in RMR Tyne also used to look after the Liverpool guys and the guy in London would look out for the Bristol guys. There was also a small detachement in Poole (!) which came under Bristol!!

As SAS and SB all now come under UKSF control, anything is now possible!

if you ever got heard calling fins, flippers you'd find yourself weaing then for the next 24hrs. Dolpins have flippers, divers have fins. [/i]

When your looking for a bite from any SB rank (or diver for that matter), you call them FLIPPER'S!
