Well I've managed, with a good pair of 'Y' fronts, for years!

It's true though that I never cammed out when flying, (and never on the parade ground doing drill!). Issuing us with bright white flying helmets, didn't exactly help either. On Escape and Evasion training, for use in the event of being brought down behind enemy lines, we were taught to use various types of mud to smear on exposed skin; which I was in those days. In dry countries we used our urine to mix up a suitable paste. Some of the guys, who were concerned about not being able to produce urine under those conditions, carried a bottle of it in their flying suit lower right map pocket, but they were accused by the instructors of 'Taking the P**s.

English China Clay mixed with brown plastercine has proved to be very effective regards reducing the INFARED signal.

Tests where carried out with this type of homemade Cam Cream on Dartmoor a few years ago. You could see blokes wearing the issued Cam Cream but not the ones wearing the China Clay and plastcine.

One drawback is in hot weather it tends to crack up and fall off.

I say to hell with cammo paint. I used to hate putting it on. I wanted the enemy to see the face of their white master. No really in one unit I was in we were only allowed to use black. Whitey painting himself black was tourture let me tell you. And you couldn't seem to get it off. BTW sea water washed the paint off pretty good as I remember.
Let them call me a rebel and I welcome it, I feel no concern from it; but I should suffer the misery of demons were I to make a whore of my soul. (Thomas Paine)

Come on now. Royal could get loads of the stuff on Dartmoor. you must remember the joys of absailing no more than a mile from the clay works.

The boffins came up with the idea but we had to mix it up in out messtins. 40 Bootnecks digging for clay on the Moor has to be seen to be believed. Then getting out the Plastercine and mixing it in with the clay.

Looked like a group of over age Kindergarden schoolkids with our picks and shovels.

I made a very good sculpture of our exteemed leader with the Plastercine and comments such as "very lifelike, could you do one of me Steve?" were passed on to me. Ended up doing set of the CO the 2I/C and the Coy commanders of 42CDORM. Still in the Officers mess at Bickliegh. But I digress, sorry. Anyway it worked. the China Clay and Plastercine.

There is one outfit I know of that are experts at applying cam cream in various layers and colours, depending on their objective and surroundings. 8)

In total comparison though to the normal use of cam cream, in their case the object is to attract attention, not to aid concealment, and the confusion it causes among the enemy is total and highly efficient. Unbelievably, they have used this tactic over and over again, and yet it still takes the enemy by surprise. Once they have infiltrated and gained the confidence of the enemy, they tend to stop using cam cream, and the shock that causes, at first sight, can cause extreme psychological damage.

Not satisfied with this tactic, they also alter the shape of the vehicle in which they travel, to make the vehicle more attractive to the enemy.

They are not to be messed with, under any circumstances, and not many of the enemy have escaped after noticing and pointing out their heavy use of cam cream, or the falsifying of the vehicle's shape.

Name that unit (It's not the SBS or the SAS) if you can, and if you dare!

Good try Cheeks, but that unit hasn't existed since 1994!

You obviously need a little more help, but I am loath to give away too much information about this unit for obvious reasons. 8)

However, their members show no mercy to prisoners and those with weaknesses, and they don't have a conscience. Even hell has no fury like them when they have been attacked and hurt in any way. They don't use logic, and can alter their persona instantly to adapt to changing situations.

One last piece of information; their vehicles have two turrets of varying sizes, and, uniquely, a front and rear bottom.

Be afraid, be very afraid! :(

Every time I put cam cream in, it washed off through sweat or rain or snow. So we never relly bothered.

We used to have the sticks but now no dice as they are cancerous. Notice how all the old fun stuff kills you?

Now days it comes in a cream, I do enjoy it as you can paint amusing pictures on your face. Im a personal favorite of a big bat symbol on my face or the hitler mustache :x :o
