Sorry if I’m wrong but... You consider your self "CV Unprepared" and that you’re CV is crap? I would consider that a very reasonable CV Level - please correct me if I’m wrong tho. Just my thought

Thanks,
Chris :)

Well done to Chris and Fairweather, unlucky Faddius, just try again mate.

To chris and Fairweather do you know what your dates are for starting basic?

I could run 3 miles in about 20min before I went. (On road).

We were lucky enough to be in the new San Carlos block in CTCRM, even tho we were on the top floor! The rooms housed 6 men, not 15 like the old block.

Tips for PRMC:
- Keep practicing the gym tests, good scores on these are vital and sets the tone for the rest of the course.
- Bottom field was tough but its not beyond anyone, when the training team tell you to sprint round a wall in the warm up try and get at the front because they will likely take your name.
- Bring jeans or trousers for eating in the galley as they are strict on what you can wear (no pt kit, coats, hooded jumpers).
- The 3 miler was flooded so prepare to be running in soaked kit! (I also fell over in a ditch and cut up my leg quite badly.)
- Learn as much as possible about the corps, I was asked questions on history and organisation.
- Before bottom field you have to do part of the high obstacle course, like crawling on ropes and walking across scaffolding.
- Bring a watch! Otherwise you will be forever asking others for the time, but for christs's sake take it off before you go in the gym!

Good luck to all the guys going down soon!

Hoping to start basic in start to mid feb, going to the AFCO tomorrow to confirm.

congratulations and comiseration to you guys!

i must disagree with an earlier post on not needing to run anything other than 3-5milers......sprints are vital, so is stamina...when you run out of stamina the sprint training will be no use.....a good mixture of both is needed 8) .......work on both is my messege to fellow wannabees.

good luck in basic and atempting PRMC again guys,...all the best

cheers, davo

Do you have to do any sprinting whilst wearing combat boots, at the bottom field for instance??

I'm asking this, as if you've ever tried sprinting in boots it's alot more difficult, and therefore would any of you recomend doing any work in boots prior to the PRMC to familarise yourself with the differences??

Well done again to Chris and Fairweather. Hard luck Faddius, i'm sure you'll piss on it next time. :)

Yes. the sprinting is done wearing boots (BF) and training (GT2) you dont need to do sprints wearing boots I didnt do the at all but doing them in trainers is a good idea. If you must do them in boots only on grass as your asking for shin splints otherwise.

Can you take your own boots to PRMC?? Just I've still got my assault boots from Cadets that fit like a glove, mind you they're not wonderfully polished at the moment and they've got an eye or two missing...but I'd far rather be wearing them than a pair of ill fitting 33rd hand ones that they keep for PRMCs.

I some how don’t think that would be fair to the others

I'm hoping when I go for Para selection that I can take my boots too, they're more comfortable than trainers...
