I didn't find any of the phyz too hard, the toughest part was adjusting to the military life, particularly the rm ways. If you keep your head up and take any shit they give you on the chin you'll be fine, you just have to crack on and take one step at a time - its only four days long so see it through and work hard through-out and you've probably passed!

recruit test 21 march - PASSED
medical 30 march - PASSED
interview 30 march - PASSED
PJFT - 11 april - PASSED 9:18

Finished the course but didn't pass unfortunately.
Got 44 Pressups, 58 situps (v poor, ouch), 6 pull ups. 10.7 on the bleep.
Bottom field warmup was v hard. I got 4:16 on the assault course but fell at the end of the monkey bars so had to re do obstacle and sprint on whilst soaked which sucked but at least it was refreshing

3 mile run was hard for me. In reality my CV was crap and my section corporal agreed but got through the run. Seemed faster than 22 mins though
. The little pressup based punishment thingey at the end was amazing. It was so tough that I thought i would faint.
Before Gym test 2 I was told that I would need to do something special to pass as I was boder line so during the test I worked as hard as possible. It is a very demanding session but give it your all. The hall sprints at the end were savage and tested everyone to the limit.
Dissapointed not to have passed the course by the .3 on my bleep test but pleased that I passed and completed all the excercises despite being hugely under CV prepared. Will give it another blast though and will certainly pass it. The guys on the course were really top notch blokes, and a huge calibre of people. The food is also great I thought shame you can't eat much in mrning or for lunch as would puke duing excercise.
Hints for preparation:
- Dont bother with long runs at a medium pace (5 miles plus) as a waste of time. You HAVE TO PRACTICE SPRINTS. So do interval training only.
- Get used to marking time with knees very high up duning all excercises as you never get to catch your breath at all.
- Get used to running in soaked runners and trousers. This add a huge weight to your feet and in much much more tiring.
- I would recommend at least once a week doing a five mile run in the morning followed by interval trining for a n hour the same day later in the day with wet runners.
Was the best and most challenging experience of my life bar none. Good luck to the guys who start up soon.

Basically the pressup punishment thing is doing various forms of ecercises in the pressup position. Pyramids from 10 down on the Cpls beat, bend stretch, holding the position in bend, stretch, etc. Sounds easier than it is but just stick in there. Never quit anything. They will stop the excericise just before you can't hold it any longer.

An awful lot of people quit or failed the bleep outright. Of those who completed the course only 3 of us were failed.

When we were down there we were shown a piece of writing on powerpoint by the WO, it was about how Royal Marines want things in thier life to be hard, does anybody know what it was called or where i could get a copy of it from?

In the Gym test 1 they said as many pressups in 1 minute only so didn't have the two mins to rest after 40. Had to bang out the max without any rest.
I did so crap on the situps because my head was not touching the mat when I was in down position. My elbows and shoulders were, but my head was not, hence i was docked loads of reps by the Cpl.
I did zero sprint training and it showed badly. I can run for 8-10 miles no problem at a 8min mile pace. This is no use for the PRMC however.
The reason I failed the bleep was that I did my PJFT in 9:30 and according to this I should have got over 12.8 on the bleep. Hence the deficit to 10.7 was unacceptable. Make of this what you will. (Hint Hint Hint for those about to do the PJFT.)
I am surprisingly ungutted however. I think that I am pleased at the way my body was able to take the punishment and how my mind was able to take the pain despite being so CV under prepared. I must have a higher paind threshold than I firts realised. I know now that I can get through anything they will throw at me next time and do it quicker and to a better quality as i will be CV fitter and stronger.

Your CV doesnt sound that bad i havent run 3miles in 18.30 before.
I agree with the sprints I didnt practice any, just about the most important thing for PRMC prep.
