Are US pilots cowboys?
No, it's a great thing mate - very laudable. Trouble is we have different notions of what freedom is. Some would say freedom from oppressive multi-national conglomerates would be a start. A a lot of our (meaning the West) troubles in the middle east and eslewhere for that matter stem from exploitation by, sad to say, the colonial powers of the 19th century. Some people might not want freedom at all - they might be happy with the security that a harsh regime offers (like in Thomas Hobbes Leviathan).
Hitler and Stalin had great plans of policing the world.
Who are we to judge what people from different cultures want. Constant meddling in their affairs can have only one consequence - they will bite back. Let's not push them into the arms of extremists.
Still, dream on sunshine.

US Army,
You are about to receive an education. So, be grateful because I am not charging you my usual fee.

Being allies to the US is not reason enough to take part in an illegal war. If your friend jumped off a bridge, would you do the same? Besides, you're not in Iraq. So what does that make you?I don't know are all Canadians cowards?
Your good friend Texas Ranger did, so take it up with him.And who said the bombing of Canadians in Afghanisan was an accident?
Well, did you know that a Canadian won the "Top Gun" competition in 1996. So the best of the best is Canadian.US pilots are top-notch...
I have never said that Gulf War II is about oil, because it isn't. And just because our Canadian press is impartial, that doesn't mean it's anti-American....and speaking of this Blood for Oil rubish that your Anti-American press spew...
Canada did not ally itself with the Sudan, a Canadian company was doing business there. I don't own that company, so I have no say in where it operates....why don't you explain why your country allied it'self with an oppressive murderous regime in the Sudan...

Hiya USArmy. It has been said before by someone a tad brighter than myself, that the US of A should not be telling the rest of the world how they should behave.
The US have only started taking human rights seriously in the not too distant past. I understand that it is still impossible for Black people to enter certain diners/bars and entertainment venues in parts of America where segregation, although unofficial, still exists. In South africa this was termed Apartheid, what do you call it? Your countrymen from prdominantly the east Coast regions of New York and Boston, of supposed irish descent, funded a major Terrorist organisation, intent on killing people like me. Unlike yourself, I still have to maintain a degree of personal security, because of my military career., and due to the twisted hatred that is termed Terrorism.
The US has bands of 'Patriotic Stalwarts' intent on remaining independent and retaining their arms. I have observed them at very close range in Montana. We look down on them as dangerous nutters, certainly certifiable in terms of our Mental Health Act. Still, because it's in the Constitution let them get on with it.
Please do not try and 'educate' us about Empire building, we've been at it much longer than Dubya, and we did it with style.
As an afterthought, we actually enjoy the company and lifestyle of our Canuck friends more than our Cuzzins, don't know why exactly, could be their tendency not to push us in the direction we don't want to go.

Orders stated that it shouldn't have gone up in the first place! A war of liberation... not an army of occupation. Don't get me wrong... I can understand the PR value of raising a coalition flag on a building such as the airport or one of Saddam's palaces i.e. to show the Iraqi people that there Minister of Information is talking out of the wrong end, but they could have just held one up... it would have had the same PR effect.when it was ordered to come down

You guys can either be players in the futre, or you can be mere side notes in a history book.
El Prez, Interesting that you bring up the IRA. I think your country should pay attention on how the US handles terrorist. B/C we won't be fighting terrorism 600 years from now...

Amazing...sounds to me like you guys started something you can't finish. So what do you do? Ahh yes blame the Americans because evey one knows a country that's 1/3 as old as the conflict is directly responsible for instigating the whole thing. Can you say "crutch".

shame
Looks like the whole affair has turned into an unpleasant spree of blanket charcterization. Too bad.
Home on the range.
There is something dodgy about US pilots and their armed forces in general !
I mean I've heard of them killing friendly foe like the British in this gulf war II. I don't see the British doing it to the Yanks !!
I think the British armed Forces seem more polished and professional in their job !! The americans may have the best technology in the world but I see something lacking in their attitude !). I keep thinking 'mickey mouse !'
Sorry if I've offended any americans ! I

Ranger and USArmy, there are men on this forum, some of whom have replied to you in other posts, who have fought terrorism in Malaya, Aden, Borneo, Northern Ireland and a few other places in between. Consequently we tend to get a little wound up when someone comes along and insists their way is the only way, having a whole 2.5 years of experience to fall back on.
Iraq isn't a war on terrorism. It's regime change with a side line in discovering WMD, which I'd be delighted for them to find. It would finally justify the actions taken to date.
As for Rangers comments on generalisation, well from this side of the pond some of your 'Patriots' look a bit more than barking! Do you really subscribe to the Aryan Brotherhood?

you said: "Do you really subscribe to the Aryan Brotherhhod"
I have an opinion about race related issues which does not confine itself to PC pleasantries. I dont subscribe to any brotherhood though. Its very easy for people to assume anything that is pro white is some sort of supremist agenda. I dont wish for white people to be OVER anyone. I just dont like it when the situation is reversed.
I think black history month is racist. We dont get a white history month.
I think Hispanic chambers of commerce are racist. If groups of whites got together to discuss how they could benefit only people of their race it would cause a riot.
I think affirmative action is racist.
I am active in opposing these types of things.
Aryan Brotherhood, National Front etc etc is all nonsense to me. To me its just the face the liberal media would like to put on it.
I will give you an example. In Jasper Texas a few years ago a black man was dragged behind a pickup truck in a drug deal gone bad. Rosie Odonnel and all the other libs flooded into Texas to march and protest it, calling for newer and tougher hate crimes. In that same town 6 months ago two black men raped and killed a 14 year old white girl. It never made anything more than the local paper. Recently I read that the vast majority of interracial crime in the U.K. is perpetrated against whites. It is these things that concern me. Not groups, or skin head clubs, or men in bed sheets or even brotherhoods. Clear enough?

Marina, the reason why you don't see the Britts doing it is for three reason's,
1) they are operating in a much smaller theater, with much more "reserved" rules of engagement and tactics. An example of this would be how that sat outside of Basara picking off peacemeal targets. Then in contrast look how US forces cut all the way to the heart of Bahgdad shooting as the went. Both tactics worked, but they are noticably different. They (British) are also bearing much lesser of the load, due to assets. Note british forces are much fresher since they haven't been sluggin' through the Iraqi desert.
2) As reported by fox news, the Britts fired some sort of Anti Tank weapon they believed to be an Iraqi tank, it turned out to be an American Bradley fighting vehicle. The projectile just kinda bounced off unharming the Bradley. So the Britts may, in some cases be encapable of damaging US assets.
3) We all only know what is reported. So if your news doesn't show you the Britts firing on US Infantry then you won't know about it, and like wise.

El Prez, nobody is saying our way is the best or anything like that. We just respond poorly to anti-American behavior. You fight terrorism your way, we do it our way, it's apples and oranges.
TexasRangers view's are not PC, but unfortunately, it is not PC to be a white male in our country with conservative views. It's even worse if your a Christian. So unless you've walked a mile in his shoes...
