Iv just had my interview for ground electronics trade i got a 62 mark on the app test, the mark required for this trade is 60. Iv just had my interview and medical and i think it went well. But the only thing is i dont have g.c.s.e science or english. I have g.c.s.e D.T and mathmatics and a G.N.V.Q intermidiate in engineering. im now waiting for them to get back to me. What are the chances i wil get turn away from the raf????

Are Science & English a "must have" for this trade?

i have no knowledge on raf but would the recruiters give u the interview if u werent qualified for the job?

The corpral Said that he would apeal at h.q to c if its possible to join without g.c.s.e english, 2week l8r i got a letter saying iv bin invited to an interview. the interview went o.k and i pass medical with flying colours wat r the chance they wil turn me away???

If they've given you an interview they are definately considering you. However with things like exam results it is usually decided by the MOD and at RAF Innsworth, the Personnel and Training HQ.

P.S you got a better score than me on the Aptitude test, I did it a few months ago and got 53! :drinking:

"The corporal said that he would appeal at HQ to see if it's possible to join without GCSE English; two weeks later I received a letter saying I've been invited to an interview. The interview went OK and I pased the medical with flying colours. What are the chances they will turn me away?"

some of the engineereing jobs say that amths and science are required however they do accept some 'high quality, non qualified apllicants'. By the sounds of it you fall into the 'high quality' category with your engineering qualification etc.

A lack of the required academic results can SOMETIMES be 'overlooked' depending upon test scores and other factors (like interview performance). I don't think it's very common though.
