fevernova, you need to find some bottle mate.well when i say tired i mean out of breath if i stoped for about 30 seconds i would feel fine. its just i start breathing heavy start geting really board and con my self to stop.
The mind will tell you to stop running well before your body is not capable of going further, it's a fairly unique human trait. Horses/dogs drop dead before they stop - literally.
Get some gonads and push yourself

I know im not the fittest in the world and my oppinion may carry no weight but if you really want to be a royal marine you shudve really prepared more and doing 1mile in 10 mins isn't really preparing.
I know i may be a little young to tell you that you should do more and be a little less of a poof just coz of any injury and getting bored.
I know your gonna be saying " that cheeky little *unt who does he think he is" but im young im not supposed ta have the drive to succed im supposed to be out having fun with my mates drinking and partying but no im in preparation college spening 3 hours a day training 5 days a week leaving at 5am and not getting back till 8pm this will get me fit but come on show sum effort ask anyone on this forum and see if they stopped training if they got tired and bored and you'll probably get the reply NO!! coz they pushed themsleves
Show sum balls and dedication dude.
O and dont mean to affend you if i do but just showing a little kiddies point of view
:usa suck

If you've not got PRMC til Jan IMHO you can crack the running so long as you work at it; I've given meself 9 months to get into proper shape, which I thought was plenty, but I can already crack the 3 miles in 22.5 mins; run every morning for half an hour, pushing it hard one day and a gentle jog the next (use that as a warm-up for other stuff) - running hard every day won't give your body time to build up; there are intensive training techniques at www.pponline.com, they work wonders if you put the effort in...and if you're only running 10 minute miles, you bloody need to. I'm basing my effort on 3 days free weights and hard runs (5 miles in under 35 minutes, gradually building up weight...I want to be able to do it carrying webbing/weapon weight by the time I go in, which is about 40lbs IIRC), and the alternate 3 days doing circuit training and core conditioning work, with one rest/piss-up day.

I don't think so yet...I've always been good over distance, just naturally, despite smoking for 5 years, guess I'm pretty lucky there; it's my upper body that's my weakness, especially my arms; at the moment I can just about do 50 press ups, but I struggle with 4 over-arm chins...
Anyhow, ringing the AFCO today, say I want to apply now instead of in the spring, hopefully get PRMC late spring/early summer...

Back in the past when i was an amatuer boxer having represented Essex County in Ireland my trainer used to say if you wasnt fit enough use brute strength and ignorance to get through , & pain is momentary victory lasts a lifetime . Having been to Commando Lympstone to do PRMC the warm up is like running a marathon in itself , this country prides itself on being the best & having the BEST amphibious infanty unit in the world thats why they say 99.9% need not apply , no disrespect but if you really want to become a Royal Marine you will really need to switch on NOW , any way i do wish you all the best .

They run it every two weeks, but there's a wait to get to it, apparently...rang the AFCO today, made a tit outta meself cos I rang the number of the Army bloke I talked to about going to the Paras, asked him to send me the Marine stuff, he said he couldn't, I had to ring this other number, to get to the Navy bloke in the next office!! And he asked me for all the info I gave to the Army last year, couldn't get it from them, and then tried to talk me into being a bloody rup...again!! But I'm going for a chat and to pick up the forms in a coupla weeks...I wasn't going to start the process til next year, but someone on here said that it is quite a long wait, so best to start now. Besides which, I'm stuck in a dead end job which I thought I'd hack for a year, but I'm bored stiff already!!

Someone said that it could take up to 6 months to get a PRMC date.....
I was planning on going down the AFCO pretty soon anyway ,to get things 'sorted'
another thing, is 1.5 miles in 9.30 a decent time???
i did that yesterday without really pushing myself and could easily knock a minute off that...
