Hi all I am new to the forum. I am currently studying for my GCSE's and I am considering a career as an officer in either the Army, RAF or Marines and I have read about Welbeck college. I was wondering if anyone has been there? What is it like? Would it be beneficial?
Thanks

Welbeck College
Hi,
welbeck college is basically what Nimrod says, the focus is on the maths, sciences and technology, so if you want to go in the REME, RE. signals as an officer it would be ideal. Saying that though if you fancied other units I would assume it would be just as beneficial. I went on a visit there, the college is set in a stately home type setting, it's got great opportunities for sports, outdoor pursuits and attachments/visits to army units. While you are there you become a member of the combined cadet force undertake weekend, evening activities with them etc.
After welbeck i think you get direct entry to Sandhurst, without the need to do the RCB (correct me if i'm wrong anybody!) I think welbeck would be highly beneficial if you are set on the army officer entry, it'll give you the confidence and maturity to start your career.
