Survey recorder

Post by dave99 »

I've been thinking of joining up as a survey recorder so I was hoping someone could give me some idea as to what the job is like, I've read all there is to read about the job at the website and I dont fancy asking at the afco just yet as I already applied as a aircrew officer and don't want to seem like im messing them about.
Also, its apparently the smallest specialization they have so does anyone know just how small?

I think they teach you that during basic, but how come I haven't seen anyone else thinking about joining as a survey recorder? Is it not a very good choice or just not very popular because its a small non-aggressive (i'd imagine) specialization.

I'll bet it so small no-one on this forum has heard about it.

Spot on, dave

If it's something that really interests you go for it! Never mind what anyone else says. Just do as much research as you can, find out everything you can and go for it!

The promotion prospects look better than average too, the CO of HMS Roebuck joined as a rating and he's only 41 :o
Since I have already applied as an officer and have my aptitude tests on monday would it be possible for me to switch to a rating or would I have to restart the whole application process? (I think this may be a stupid question since I asked my ACLO twice and havn't gotten a reply)
