Well done Andy. Enjoy your leave, you will probably be desperate to get back before you are due to go! Where are you now? Collingwood?? Have a pint of 'Diesel' (Submariners tipple) in Nelsons for me.

Tezmal: 1 major piece of advice when your are told to do something do it at speed!!!!! ohh yeah and don't back chat don't sweat it mate you'll piss it!! try to enjoy it more than anything the first few weeks are hard but you'll piss it if you've got big brass balls :D (although having them does cost a fortune in brasso) honestly mate the hardest part out of all my 7 weeks was keeping up my kit. it was a Fcuking nightmare. but i got through it cos i had big brass balls!! :o

Sticky: top bloke 8) cheers for all the advice when i was squirmmin before i left for Raliegh I was a little nervous to say the least but i pissed on my fitness training and know all I have to do is get that lovely little badge known as my Dolphins!! can't wait. oh yeah sticky Dolphin has shut down mate the submarine school is based at Raleigh now and as you would imagine all the lessons take place there as well.

Magz: nah we stay at Raleigh for the submariner training and i do my 10 weeks dry up there to but because I'm a wosom (weapons submriner for you civvies :agrue: ) I think i have to go to dryad but last i heard it is getting closed down so the jury is still out on that one but not to worry I'm just looking forward to the rest of my training and gettin stuck in!!

cheers for all the support lads I'm due you all a pint of diesel!! mmm.. nah make mine a pint! cheers again lads

Alright Andy?

Let me just sneak a question in, what are the other recruits like in general? Is it easy to make friends and that?

Hi Andy

Can you tell me something mate? Do they have awards at the end of phase 1 training for the best recruits, best shot, best drill, stuff like that? Just wondering really as I've heard they have this kind of thing in army training.

Anyway, glad to hear you're enjoying it. I've been acepted myself and am awaiting my start date. They reckon it'll sometime in Oct/Nov...

All the best mate

Also, I'm off in for Weapons Submarine so I'm just wondering what kind of stuff you learn in the classroom there?

tezmal, I'm going in as an OM(C).
I'd originaly applied to be a submariner (Comms) but as I'm really interested in the travel, surface ships seemed to be the way to go.

yeah but you still get to travel when on Submarines, just not as quick.

Also when you do port at another country you get put up in a hotel and get spending money (which means good nights out!).
