Would a better idea not be to improve your fitness if you fail, improve your weaknesses and then re-apply for PRMC so you could pass it the next time around?

From what i've been reading it seems as though its easier to get into the paras.. not going to fail anyway its just a backup plan...

Sorry dude, didn't mean that in a bad way I just thought that paras training was harder thats all.
not going to fail anway
Good attitude :)

this is nimbards brother, in week 5 of training on summer leave right now. PRMC is harder physically than the first weeks of training but as long as your fit, mental strength will get you through, just make sure you can do 60 pushups in 2 mins, 6 pullups and 80 situps in 2 mins. Thats the max they expect of you so if you fall slightly under you can still pass. There is a t-shirt in the marines about the paras, on the front it says god is airborne, and on the back it says he just failed his prmc. Paras is ok if you got no brain but if you want to join the best then join the marines, nimbard wont be joining the paras.

Nimbard: If you fail you try again ,if you dont like it maybe the paras mays suit you more. I would suggest however you keep your mouth shut about 'if i fail im going for the paras' as its a sign of bad determination. Also im sure your brother would have a few stern words with you about it if you did

In my opinion if you fail your PRMC, it would probably be easier to re-attempt it than to join the paras. The standards are essentially the same, but if you wanted to switch your choice you would have to cancel your RM application, apply to the paras (who might be wondering why you gave up on your first choice so easily), and then attempt their selection. All in all, much more complicated for a worse option, so not really worth it :).

Good point voodoo, mate if you don’t make it through prmc you wont make it through the Para selection course and vice versa. Good luck with it, and remember that the pain can’t last for ever!!!
