My Fitness

Post by Jonah »

Alright guys just thought i'd get your opinion on my fitness.
It's 4 weeks today until i go down to Lympstone on my prmc, and i did a few of the tests today to see what kind of level i'm at. The scores are as follows:

Press-ups = 41
sit-ups = 64
Pull ups = 5 (after a knackering gym session first)
Bleep test = level 11.0

3 miles = 21 mins 14secs

Just wondering what you lot thought about these scores, do they sound good enough to you? obviously they'll be a little higher before i go as i have a month to work on them.
Waiting around until i can go back to Lympstone.

Pretty good Jonah.

Were you knackered when you done the 3 miler? I'm not saying your time is bad, but I hear you are hanging out when you do it on the PRMC.
you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength, and just pull that shit out of you, and get that motivation to not give up, and not be a quitter no matter how bad you wanna fall flat on your face

That is about the level I'm at and I have selection in under 2 and a half weeks. I can run the 3 miles faster, in about 19 minutes, but the press ups, knock about 10 off there  . Don't know about bleep test, don't have a tape. I think those scores should be okay, just show some grit and determintaion and you should pass with those scores.
There are 3 kinds of people: those who can count & those who can't.

I wouldn't say i was hangin out exactly, but im constantly tired from being on my feet at work etc. I could probably got a little bit faster aswell if a green lid depended on it.

Cheers rabby thats boosted my confidence, at the end of the day once i'm down there i'll be fine, i have too much pride to fail.

The coropral who marked us and made notes on us said, i should'd nt PRMC a doodle but should pass as i showed grit, determination and the willingness to push that bit harder when they asked us on the beasting which would boast well for the bottom filed...

he also recommened paying more attention to upper body strength as this is the part most PRMC candiadates are weak and ill-prepared on..

cheers, dave

they seem okay jonah,i wouldnt worry too much.
You will probalby add another 10 on the press-ups and sit-ups and also when you are doing the 3 miler you will dig in deeper because you will be running in a group.

He means with the training time you have left and the pressure you'll feel down at CTC.

Ahem, cough*bullsh-t*cough

"Hi-guys" should you actually do any of that anyway, other than the cardio side you'd be getting nowhere.

Also, go and get a job or something because anyone that 'can' and 'does' do that has far too much time on there hands.

Lew, I'm in the same boat as you I've been injured (I'm asuming its a broken bone somewhere in my foot) for about 6 weeks and my fitness has gone down the drain. I've started to get a belly!!
stuck in a rut, unsure about the future, unsure about the military lifestyle, for a while anyway
