You have point there, I went to the pool last week, saw mountains of kids running about screaming and shouting OUTSIDE the the place. So I thought imagine what it would be like inside, went and had a look through the window, and what do I see? Nothing but hundreds of kids running about and bombong into the pool and just a nightmare really, so I turned and went home again.

Gruff c, In order to increase your leg strength you must do more running and walking plus plenty of swimming. If your swimming pool is full of brats try getting up earlier in the mornings and go down to your local pool as I'm sure that they might open up early for those who have fitness in mind and can't stand the screaming brats.Talk to them.If you are amember of a fitness club, talk it over with your instructor about your physical weeknesses and I'm sure he will help.

Gruff,
Look here and look through the comments, there is details on the water tunnel as well as all the other obstacles and such on the assault course.
I phoned a mate who's a lifeguard at the swimming pool and he said it opens at 9am, so I'm going to make sure I'm there for 8.59 ready to go. :)

Looking through this forum i got some info on the surgical spirits thing about and how it toughens up your feet.

now when i read it i went and bought some but when i poured it into a bowl it barely covered the soles of my feet.
It would probably go up to my heel if i used 2-3 bottles but that would be to costly in the long run.

so i was wondering what way do you do it? if you do it at all

Yeah i agree with loz, i'm using spirits at the moment, you dont need loads, just a bit on a cotton wool ball, and you'll notice the difference within weeks, my feet are now hard as nails! 8)
Waiting around until i can go back to Lympstone.

What Loz don't mention cos she is a "Lady" is, never get it near yer tackle and two.

Treat it with care and never ever apply it to your feet when yer knackers are itching as a quick scratch of said area without thinking halfway through doing yer feet can be offputting. IT HURTS. Surgical spirit I am talking about. Been their done that. I sounded like a Japanese Soldier doing a BANZI charge so I was told. (AIEEEEE! BLITISH COMMANDO!)

gruff, please make sure you, or anybody else within 50m, is not having a fag when you do this.

I thought it was a wind up when you posted this.

'Fraid we get too much American TV. Wouldn't mind living in North Carolina if I could though. I fancy the US more than the EU somehow. Looking to move on from here.

NNOOOOOOO! You can't move to the US, thats sacralige! If you want to stay that side of the pond emigrate to Canada or Mexico or something. America, you don't want to go there, visiting relatives there for 3 weeks a couple of years ago was enough!

Rab,

I understand your horror. America/Americans are so complex. First it is an incredibly beautiful and varied country. Second, as individuals Americans are really nice people. I've visited a lot of States and always was treated with friendly courtesy. The difference in the definition of "service" in the UK and US is like chalk and cheese.

The massive, endless open spaces are awe inspiring and I love to drive and that is a pleasure in the States, not much fun in the UK, and downright scary in Bermuda.

I could buy a big house on 10 acres with a trout stream for about half what my house here is worth.

When my son went through a really hard time with ADD and depression I turned to the US where he got great help whereas in the UK I would probably have been told that children don't get depressed or that ADD doesn't exist while he went on ahead and committed suicide while waiting to see a doctor.

Too many Frenchmen in Canada. Wouldn't fancy living in the United States of Europe. Never really considered Oz or New Zealand.

You should go back and visit the mountains of North Carolina, the Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, New England in Spring.

Honest, Americans are not quite how they come across on TV. And they speak (mostly) English.

I would never give up my passport though. And I will never understand how they elected Bush (Jeez, how oh how) or Ronald Ragan.

I just hope my son can join RM. Now that's a different story.

Off box.
