If they manage to get out of the jars they can apply for MI5 through the link below.

Hehe, what about MI6 then? There isn't a website for them, I did a search.
But then those who who really want to be in the Intelligence service should be able to find MI6, rather than have MI6 advertise it., shows resourcefulness. :)

MI5 is based on a personal application form which is downloaded from their website. Anyone of UK origin can apply and you do not need prior military or police experience. Candidates usually have a decent Uni degree 2.2 upwards and sensible. If you you couldn't find this info by yourself on the net then perhaps you should consider a different future job... :-? MI5 are actively seeking Linguists and Computer specialists so arabic, or eastern European languages would be a bonus.

MI6 use word of mouth recruitment usually a University lecturer or professional collegue will approach you and recommend you apply and supply you with the relevent contact details. If you are good enough someone will spot you somewhere.

To get an idea of this process read The Big Breach by Richard Tomlinson, it was free on his site although it seems to have been removed. I might have a .doc copy somewhere on my other PC i will have a look. www.thebigbreach.com The book is banned in UK, US, Italy, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Germany and some other countries could only be published in Russia.

Obviously if you wish to apply to either then it would be sensible not to post your intentions on the net as very often your family is not on a need to know basis hence the population certainly insn't. I am sure it will impress them if you say your idol is James Bond or it's a great way to pick up chicks :x

I have to admit a slight advantage I have over most applicants. In the best Irish way I am a cunnilinguist, which has to be spot on for promotion and my other claim to fame is my speciality with my computer. As it's a lap dancer I'm able to pick it up, shout at it and smack it down hard every time it disobeys me. Which is apparently something special to see.

Rabby,
6 don't have a website but there is an Enquiries desk PO Box address for them.

As my esteemed friend Sticks has already said you can't use the words Intelligenmce Officer together, it is an oxymoron

5 & 6

In days of old I think that was how exclusive the recruitment was but that is neither practical or sensible in todays world. You need diverse teams.
As has already been said 5 recruit via their web site and 6 recruit via application to Po Box address in London.

Or....

...you could just use the resourcefulness you really need if you EVER want to pursue a career in MI6 (or SIS as it is now known) and goto the website of their superior organisation. The FCO.

That'll tell you about joining. To me it screams Eton and Oxbridge, mind you.
