Considering joining the army?

Post by day tripper »

Hello everyone, im thinking about joining the army but have a few issues I need advice with.

At the moment I am sick of my boring, unrewarding, underpaid job, and have always had an interest in the army but never did anything about it. Im planning on staying in my job for the next 6 months. during this stime I am going to start going to the gym and intend to get fit. Im 6'3 and around 13.5st. Quite unhealthy.

Also in my late teenage years ive taken an acid tab or two, and like the occassional joint. When one goes for a medical test would this be frowned upon. To stop smoking is not a problem for me, but i do not want to attempt to get in the army if I do not have a chance to start with due to some old chemicals in my system.

I am interested in tank crewman, driver or maybe infantry.

I would be greatful if anyone could offer any advice.

Thats is far enough, do gp's do through screening as i would the army to have specialised tests.

How many days a week and how are shift times organised as i wouldnt expect a common pattern. Could somone explain would a typical week would cover.

Im interested in tank crewman or driver at the moment.

The downside to being a driver I guess is once you finish the army you cant really take on a skill you learned in the army about from hgv driving.

The test involves urinating into a tube and a powder added to it. Depending on the colour depends on what you have taken. The medical is undertaken by a civilian docters.

LSD can only be detected for 24-72 hours after ingestion
with cannabis it can be detected 48-72 hours after a single use or 12 weeks for habitual use

go to http://www.erowid.org/psychoactives/tes ... ting.shtml

If your worried there are 2 ways to help 'flush' the system.

1: Drink water like your in vegas as this waters down the chemicals and helps 'flush' the system

2: Train like a mad man while taking less water than you usually would as this helps flush the body of its fluids and not those you have consumed

Acid is not detectable after 24 hours i believe and cannabis is really upon the extent to what you have used it.
