Try reading some of Tony Deans Posts, he was also a very strange person and joined the regt. He's training somewhere wild and windswept at present. Use the search facility at the top left next to FAQ.
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

Hi Diablo, under the first box I typed Royal Airforce training and under the second Tony Dean, then select show as Posts.
His list came through, go to RAF, Joining, Medical, for further info on his progress.

Hi.
Im new to this forum, but I have been reading it for ages.
Ive just done my PGAC, came home yesterday.
The PGAC I was on was the first one they have made harder, and from now on they will be harder aswell. They say this is because more then half the recruits that get to the trainee stage drop out and its wasting their time.
The gym tests, swim and 3 mile run were fairly straightforward, yet it was still surprising how many we lost because they couldnt do it.
The hardest aspect was a 4 kilometre bergen march. We had bergen, slung rifle and a small beltkit (wearing uniform, boots) and had to run near enough the full 4 kilometres over rough ground and up and down jeep tracks. We lost alot of people through that.
My best tip is get fit for it, if your not fit enough, dont go, they will bin you.
Alot of people failed mine, I was in a room with 8 other people, and there were only 4 os uf left at the end.
Im going for the trainee gunner course now, hopefully asap.
Good luck.

help!!!
hey there,i have my pgac on the 20th but i have a slight problem,i have been training as much as i can but i have recently got this pain in my right leg on the right handside of it,everytime that foot goes down i get a sharp pain like someone is stabbing my leg but sometimes i get it even when im not running.if someone has had this or knows wot it is plz tell me asap i would b greatful. el diablo
Hello el_diablo is it your upper leg or lower leg? maybe its shin splints thats the most common thing, I have niggle in my left leg just below the kneecap that hurts when I run but as it gets no worse with time I just ignore it, if it really hurts you need to see a doctor find out what it is and take it from there. But if its just a niggle like mine then put it to the back of your mind.
