Sorry Tigress have to agree, hope you get your man home soon. All day yesterday I was busy with phonecalls asking if it was 40 Cdo back. Once again the press got it wrong and it was a mixture of yeovil squadron , navy and Raf. Also a lot of girls saw Ark Royal sail and assumed that because there men left on her that they would return on her. As family rep i have now lost my voice explaining that the press are w****ers and I am concentrating on cutting the grass, cleaning the car, decorating the bedroom.starting up the motorbike, practicing for a 30 mile yomp, finding where his measly wages disappeared too (the extra £4.00 a day) and doing the bikini line!!!! From what ive heard on camp they will be home end of may mid june. So take the latter date and any earlier is a bonus. So lads if you dont hear the girls for a few days you know whats up!!!!!

Sorry to appear like a whinging cow, but I am afraid you lot are about as close as it gets to a sounding board. I have sod all support or information from any unit, I live a long way from any family and I spend a great deal of time stuck in the middle of the North Sea.
I was mainly so pi**ed off, because Clive was bumped from his flight on Monday. Due to the nature of my work, I need a fair bit of info in advance, so that I can make an attempt to swop my offshore weeks around if I am going to be around to see my husband when he gets home. I could drop a trip, but 4.5k is a lot of money to give up!
I am well aware of the knack of the mob to take any plan and have it FUBAR in three seconds flat. Clive did serve 24 years as a regular and I did 9 myself.

HMS Turbulent arrived in Plymouth Sound this morning after being away for ten months. All the families and friends had been waiting to greet their relatives. But did the sunmarine come straight alongside - did she hell. She anchored in the Sound for at least five hours; good way to build up the suspense!!

Returning Home
The buzz around here (Exeter) is that some of those returning are home early for courses, JCC, SCC etc at Lympstone. This happened in the end of the Falklands when some flew from Ascension to get leave in befor ehte start of courses.
I managed grey funnel both ways, HMS Fearless bored shitless but unfit and suntanned, then straight onto JCC as a reserve - another bit of good planning.

The mind works but the body's given up
OK, for 4.5k I am willing to dress up in stockings, basque, crutchless knicks, makeup, wig (and have various parts of my anatomy pierced.).I could drop a trip, but 4.5k is a lot of money to give up!
The price will include a full nites lodging at Casa Kernow, the summer palace of El Pres.
For an extra fiver you get the video thrown in as well.
A tenner buys you 20 mins of me and the pres nude jelly wrestling with toots clearing up afterwards.
Hmmmmmmmmm, thinking about it, we used to do all this for nowt!
Sound off NST!!!!! You have earned the right!
It wont be long now, good luck to you both and have fun!!!!!!!!!!!

Have to say that the buzzes going around Exeter are completely correct. All personnel who are going on promotion courses or resettlement and Jcc are being sent home ASAP. My hubby is due home for his seniors but after being laid up for nearly a year due to crush injury he is panicking about his fitness level. apparently when in the Gulf the only fizz he could do was work upper arms
( is that what artic socks are for!!!!!) ,but he could not run to build up his legs due to dodging snipers!!!!
After 14 years in the Corps hopefully they will take that into consideration.

The men were to be brought home over a longer time scale so they could have a decrompression period, for risk assesment to their mental health. The welfare officers are flying out next week to start preping the lads for coming home. It is a bloddy shambles that flights are cancelled at last minute so some pillock can take his 4 day easter leave. I had Jed on the phone and he informed me that he would be home 2 days before Kieras birthday which is the 28th but after the initial excitement I wont be holding my breath especially after what has happened to Hoppy. I even persuaded him to do the 30 miler with us (sexual favours involved)
I darent tell the kids he will be home on a certain day just in case (which it probably will) it is cancelled. One day is a long time to a child. All i can say is phone Welfare at 42 and let them know your concerns and ask them to log it, then at least they might!! do something about it. And make sure you do fight tooth and nail for a refund, my next door neighbour and the Co's wife were to fly to Egypt to meet the lads for their RnR and the dates were shifted the day before. The MOD promised them a full refund - she is still waiting. Any way Loz keep your chin up and practice that smile for when he comes home, hopefully it wont be too long If you need a good drip youve got my number. Take care and sound off as much as you like, because im sure in a week or so when hoppy is back and mines been delayed it will be me having a moan.
