What are 45 doing?

Post by will »

Can anyone tell me what 45 commando are doing at the minute, as I have only read that 40 and 42 are in the Gulf.
I am going to RM Condor on a gliding scholarship startin 4th April, and was wondering if hey are there at the minute or elsewhere.

They're in Northern Ireland. There will be some in Arbroath right now so the base won't be empty!

I thought they were playing in the Med as part of a big 'exercise'?

So does noone know or are we all right?? I thought the army was going to deal with the Fire Strikes? I heard that a few from 45 were in Iraq, and as the spearhead unit they all should have been there but it clashed with a 6 month NI tour. Better check me G&L :D

Brother In Law in 45 CDO and is currently in Iraq. They have not been sent as a unit but been attached to either 40 or 42. He is currently attached to 42.

Thanks tara, welcome back. That nasty Rob Parry has been removed from the site and replaced by a much kinder, nicer sort of dictator. But let's not talk about Loz.

I think you are all partially right. According to the letter I got from the welfare officer at Arbroath some weeks ago, some of 45 are there (my lad being one of them), some fire fighting, some in NI. They have not been deployed this time as a single unit but have been split up to support other groups.

Spoke to a mate over the weekend and he said that some of the lads were supporting special forces at the minute.
