Eyesight level

Post by Benn »

Does anyone know the sight requirements for a commando?

My left eye is perfect, but my right isn't quite so hot. Overall I have excellent vision, but i tend to favour the left over the right.

Shouldnt worry about that my left eyes not so good.

I asked the Doctor at my medical and he said my right eyes superb my left just isnt as good and that i still have 20/20 vision.

It wont hinder your progress unless its bad enough that you need glasses in which case it'll narrow down which career paths you can take...i think?...having said that i saw a few nods down at CTC wearing specs.

nice signature benn!

on a cup of coffee: "warning: contents may be hot"
or on a bag of peanuts: "caution, packet may contain nuts"

i was just checking the official eye test thingy and it says that if you must have a vision of 6/60 (6/6 is perfect vision) but how does that turn into your normal eye sight? Isn't it normally graded out of 20?

because i have quite bad eyesight so i had to get my optition to fill out a form they gave me and out of the three grades the have i was placed in gade one. and i asked the optition what was grade three like and he said that it ment you could only read the top line. and you can be accepted if you fall into these three gade ranges.

The fella at the AFCO just said to me that as long as you have not got a major problem in your eyes, you will be ok. (im shortsighted but only a bit - worse in my right eye)

He also said to me that when I go for my medical, ill have to bring a prescription slip. What happens during the medical for your eyes?
