The BBC showed the first programme of six (i think) on BBC 2 last night, about civies attempting part of the SAS selection. I assume its not a 100% replica but can anyone compare the two and suggest if they had reasonable go of making the selection process.

Got the book the other day, written by Barry Davies. He writes a chapter or so about the actual TV show, and mentions that he doesn't feel any of them could have met the challenge of the SAS selection. Kind of puts it into perspective doesn't it. otherwise, it is a good book, gives a good account of the SAS selection aswell as background knowledge that could help if you attempted selection.

did you see the women who thought it was unfair she got kicked for not making the timings and ditching weight i didnt expect this she claimed another good reason to keep women out they are as good as men as long as they dont have to actually meet the same standards

This sundays was the Escape and evade exerise. One group broke the (SOP) special forces protocol. They said keep of the roads and wot DID they do , tried to hitch a lift and the Team actually got caught when the chasing party were the ones that stopped.

This same women although got the highest score for the interrogation though very impressive. But she had broken the rules and was chucked off the course

Women

Post by Defiant »

That was the final program and the most interesting fact was that one women did pass and do all 10 days. Women will want to use this case to provide evidence that women can keep up. I dont think they will get their chance to fight , Not for a long time

SAS - tough enough (comparison)

Post by Guest »

Hi guys

well you know the TA and regas have different systems to the beeb programme.

the TA is a slower build up lasting several weeks before they get to the "long drag". The Regs do something similar to the drag in the 2nd week after being there full-time.

Either way its a ball breaker!!

I quite enjoyed the beeb effort and well done to those that passed. I only did the TA version and flunked.... great experience.

KEEP FIT + STAY SAFE

That women diserved to be chucked off for getting rid of weights, like wise if it was a man. If your in the field and you disobey an order, your mates dead.
