Has anyone got any tips on what to do with their belongings when they enter the Military?
I dont really speak to my family a great deal so Ive no place to store my bits and pieces, I'll sell the car and furniture but I wouldn't mind keeping things like my Computer, Wardrobe and other crap.
Also If I was to sell it all then fail what a load of sh1t that would be, although im of the mindset that failure is not an option.
So many things to think about

Can't really help on this one. Just one query: are you sure it's a good idea to sell your car? Once you're allowed "out" it will be a godsend. And you'll need to get another one at some point. I guess selling is OK if you're disciplined enough not to blow all that new found cash. But I don't think interest on savings is keeping up with rises in car prices these days?? You might find yourself strapped when you need to buy another one.
Just a thought.

Keeping a Car in the same spot for 30 weeks while im away may not be the safest option, although I see what your getting at.
Plus Ive got another kinda sad problem that relates to this, when I get leave I would theoretically have no place to go
Ive pretty much parted with most of my old friends as they are finding themselves continuously on the wrong side of the Law amongst other things and I can't be doing with that, especially if I want to get in the Military.
So basically I'd have no property and no place to stay and all things considered it would be easier to park the car a few miles from the base and jump on the correct train a few stops down.
kinda sad really, or I could tell my work im going on an Uber vacation and leave the car in our Massive car park.
Oh well, I wish Id decided to join at a younger age before I started to acquire stuff.

I have absolutely no idea about the current sit'n at CTC - which is always a good place to start if you're offering "advice"!???
Could you ring CTC or ask the rctng office whether you can park your car up at CTC while yr in trg. Maybe it's changed but we were allowed "out" after 6 weeks. In which case your car would be an asset.
End of day, I guess, is go to the rctg off and ask themwhat the score is. Don't second guess and don't listen to old farts like me, or young farts who don't know the answer. Good Luck!!!!

Camp Orphan it is thenAdam Downie wrote:There is no waivers NO ONE in training is allowed to take cars down for a few reasons it will be left standing and become suspicous. Plus they say there is not alot of room. And the main one is they like to great you off the train so everyone is together. There are no exceptions.
