How very dare you? What are you insinuating? Rubbish dear? Who dear? You dear? No dear! It's a good job you chose to post your abuse on a site with rubbish moderators...

"Brightened up my day?" Sorry, no. Most of your replies come across as sarcastic and (in your own eyes) really clever. They're not Steve, you just annoy people in truth so stop trying to be summut your never going to be. I.E. Original.Rogue Chef wrote:I don't believe that! All my posts are humorous.
In any case, I'm happy to have brightened up your day.

Well at least someone 'got it'!That's the first time one of your posts has actually made me laugh Rogue, well done!
Artist,
Physician, heal thyself.
Take a look at some of the other posts on this thread (mainly from those close to you). I'd be interested to see your comments on them.
Make any assumptions you like and put your conclusions on here, but be clear that they will almost certainly be wrong.
I have specified the tone of my posts (in open forum and by PM), on numerous occasions.
They are:
a. Always lighthearted.
b. Never malicious.
c. Usually humorous.
d. Sometimes a teeny weeny bit sarcastic.
Whenever you read my posts, go through this list and remind yourself. You could print it out, laminate it and keep it in your wallet as an aide-mémoire. If you still arrive at the 'wrong' conclusion, you only have yourself to blame.
I don't view myself as 'really clever' or have an over inflated opinion of myself. You recently mentioned to me about how you are percieved by others and what you are really like.'Are we clear?............ Are we clear?'
'Crystal'
If you asked people who actually know me, you would probably/possibly/maybe/hopefully realise that the above is slanderous nonsense. Why, seeing yourself in the mirror first thing in the morning must bring on a terrible urge to have sex with yourself.
I wait with anticipation, but little real hope, of seeing your posts reprimanding Flighty, sissy and yourself for not being nice.
Carry on. Happy moderating.

Sorry I haven't got back to you a bit earlier, but I've got more interesting things happening in my life than arguments on the internet, ya geek. I am actually making the most of the facilities and weather in your country. Thank God those who I've met are a bit more polite than yourself.Whitey wrote:Yeah, me too. Looking at you with that .50 cal barrett sprawled up on a high point all silloutted told me what you were real quick there cowboy.
Don't think for a minute I hadn't canvased your ass in a New York minute Baldie.
Nice haircut btw Greenweenie. Enjoy your self sorrow pit over a war and a service we all cheered and asked for. No one is drafted, hell you got kids here fighting to get into the services despite you strong silent types with the remeberance of this and that.
Haircut? Sorry it's not to your liking. Greenweenie? Ha ha, cracking slagging! Typical Yank homo penis reference, I'd had better insults at Junior school!
As for Afghanistan, I was chuffed to bits to go there actually, my only regrets are lost friends. But I'm a grown up and we all know that's what happens in war. As for the comments on my pic, wind your neck in ya gimp. You have no concept of the circumstance or surroundings.

And this is a distillation of the entire problem [well, by problem, I mean your complete lack of ability to introspect]Rogue Chef wrote: Make any assumptions you like and put your conclusions on here, but be clear that they will almost certainly be wrong.

a) Your posts are NOT always lighthearted. They are invariably sarcastic with some attempt at what you deign to be humour
b) With regard to your comments/suggestions to Moderators: they are invariably jeering, snide, 'point-scoring', spiteful, mocking, derisive, scornful - and so on. I think, by any rational definition, these would be defined as 'malicious'.
c) Humorous? Really? On whose definition of humour? Silly me! Yours, of course!
d) 'Sometimes, a weeny bit sarcastic' - No! Surely not! Are you unable to see that many people see your sarcasm as nothing but an expression of your overwhelming sense of self-rightousness. But, there again, I could agree with the adjective 'sarcastic' if defined as meaning 'a veiled sneer'.
(I refer the Honourable Gentleman [once again] to the poem by Rabbie Burns)
I do hope you don't judge my comments on your 'Personal Gallery' to be a veiled sneer in any way.
This is supposed to be a forum where people with a similar 'world view' [booties and friends] and youngsters trying to find out 'what it all means' come together for banter, chat, an exchange of views [often diametrically opposite - but considered with respect]
However, your posts always seem to have the nuance of a superior view, that transcends those of other 'lesser mortals'.
Have you actually given the moderators even a suggestion of support for the work they do - and, without which, this forum would descend to levels most booties and other squaddies, from whatever Arm, would find totally inconsistent with what they are trying to do: exchange dits, bitch about the world, try to put it right, and give help/advice where they can?
Rogue, it's not all about you and your superior attitude you know
To repeat your quote:
Make any assumptions you like and put your conclusions on here, but be clear they will almost certainly be wrong .I have specified the tone of my posts (in open forum and by PM), on numerous occasions.
I find the sheer egotistical arrogance and 'self-assuredness' of this statement to be quite astonishing. Rogue, you clearly have no conception that anything you think, say or do could be possibly wrong, do you?
How very, very, sad.

sissy,
Physician heal thyself.
You are wrong....................... again. But you are always good for a giggle. One of my daughters (she's 11) thinks your posts are quite funny, but her sense of humour isn't fully developed yet.
You don't know me at all, but you consistently choose to arrive at conclusions about me through your misinterpretation of my posts. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a 'man' to whom the 'truth' has been explained many times, but chooses to interpret them in his own twisted way. I would rather you just said thank you and went on your way.

As I stated before, I may not agree with all of Whiteys postings and that I understand why he says what he does, especially when news comes out of India that a number of the Mumbai gunmen are Muslims of British origin. Then there was a report released recently where the RAF picked up Taliban radio messages, the sender of which had an English accent.
Something has got to give sooner or later in UK, especially when our blokes are being killed with the help of those British Muslims
Sometimes I feel a rant coming on too.

Greenwhatever,
Due to very liberal freedom of speech codes in your country I'm not allowed to speak on your site in public anymore and certainly not allowed to trade insults with you at this point. You probably read that though. So feel free to kick me while I've been bound and tied by the mob.
Britianinafrica,
All I can say is, well, yeah.
Again though, if you care to engage in free speech and a fair fight come vistit me and we can take this up at www.resistersite.com
I won't insult via pm either, that will only get forwarded to the yard duty here and serve for yet more evidence on why I'm the anti-Christ and should not be tolerated, but burned on the alter of political correctness.
Britianinafrica, I hope to see you soon. Thanksgiving was interesting for me. I spent many hours with a very famous writer and researcher. Amazing what I learned.
I'll be out of the country again soon, Merry Christmas (Can we still say that in Free Countries?". No hard feelings, and I'm not a Yank, I'm a Rebel. But I can't expect you to understand American Geography.

Let them call me a rebel and I welcome it, I feel no concern from it; but I should suffer the misery of demons were I to make a whore of my soul. (Thomas Paine)

Whitey - noone has said you can't post, we just don't want to see posts about taking over the world, wiping out Jews and Muslims etc.
If you have nothing else to talk about, then fine, you've said on numerous posts that it will be your last, so stick to it for once. If you can manage to post within the terms and conditions of the site then you are more than welcome to stay.
Either way it's your decision.

Drifting away from the Whitey issue in response to Sisyphus' post (although a far more general concern).
Due to varying degrees of aggravating/insulting/threatening posts and PMs over the last god knows how long, moderation on the site has certainly become stricter. I'm not saying this is a bad thing. As a result, some members have jumped on the wagon and instantly leap in with the 'greater good' kind of idea. The issue with Rogue Chef is one such example - you may not agree with his posts, but he has done no harm and has been on this site for years (and from my point of view at least is one of the more amusing members here).
I feel it is time to chill out, sit back and relax a little. If you don't like someone's posts, don't read them. That's not to say vengeful abuse etc will be tolerated, but that everyone has a different sense of humour (in the military it's often based around un-PC insults and sarcasm), which needs to be appreciated. Arguments about relevant topics are good; arguments about who's got the moral high ground generally degenerate to a slagging match.
So if you're offended, sit back and think, should I be, really? Answer back with your own witty comment in what you deem to be appropriate style. Don't jump in with the whole "I'm so sick of such and such's comments, they're making me cry." This is a military forum, abrubt and offensive comments should be the norm

In a similar vein, whilst I appreciate why the mods have clamped down, I do feel that they should consider also relaxing a little. They do do a good job, and for free, but they (again, not finger-pointing at any one in particular) do seem to have started jumping on people a little too readily, especially newer members. A little more patience with more gentle prods in the right direction/pointing out of obvious wrongs (even when they are incredibly wrong to the point of offending those who are older and wiser) is required if we are to keep new members and integrate them. That's not to say outright abuse should be tolerated, and as I said I've seen and understood some of the reasons, and heard about one or two more serious incidents; but moderation has certainly got a lot tighter since I started here, to the point where newbies are being snapped at inside their first few posts...gentle insults/sarcasm/polite requests to educate themselves on the point they're making may encourage a better and more active site. This is also becoming an issue on MFAT. To relate this to Whitey, whilst many may find his views insulting or absolute waffle, they are put across in an educated manner. This sort of thing should be responded to in kind, to prove him wrong (if indeed he is), rather than cries of "burn him!" Blatant extreme racism can be edited out for the sake of PC, though I have to say I am of the view that if he holds those views, so be it, that's his prerogative, even if they are against general consensus/acceptability. It is then up to other members to post in reply, as some here have done, pointing out his errors and providing counter-arguments. This is a forum, it'd be no fun if everyone agreed all the time.
My 2p, off soap box, retrieving coat...

Druadan,
Anymore of that sort of insubordination and you'll be for the high jump! I fully expect you to receive a formal warning from the mods, or one of their stooges (sissy puss; is that a word? It is now), for failing to 'toe the line'. You want to watch yourself young fella-me-lad.
In keeping with current policy of not believing what the originator of posts says. This message is:
a. Not in the least lighthearted.
b. Totally malicious.
c. Not humorous.
d. Extremely sarcastic.
Yep, that should do it!
