orite ma names gary. just wonderin if my current level of fitness is good enough for the para trainin?

press-ups, 47
pull-ups, 15
sit-ups, 55

1.5 miles, 8min 50sec
5.5 miles, 44min

In theory yes mate, I'm assuming that you can do your press ups etc within a reasonable time! Most people can do 47 press ups if you give them long enough! :wink:

Don't worry too much about it though, The Depot will get you fit. As I say to all the wannabe Paras on here, you're not meant to be the finished article when you start so don't flap too much about it. Also fitness is NOT everything, any f*cker can get fit, it's your mental strength that will get you through.

By the way mate, keep a grip on your spelling and grammar on this forum. We're not really fans of text speak, you'll just get moaned at :D

thanks. im just starting to get a wee bit apprehensive as going for my training on th 16th. :)
i can do 49 press-ups in 50 seconds.
are you allowed to take supplements with you e.g ones for quick recocery or pre training energy boosts?

i doubt you'll time!!

training dits...i remember we had 6 and a half minutes before phys...we had to shower, mop the heads, get changed, have scran, get changed in to PT rig...needless to say we where late, not really enough time for a viper or a maximuscle shake really.....queing for scran took more than 6 minutes! we where thrashed

Troop ???? that should be Platoon.

And too give a rough guide too the sort of times joe are running here. I took one of the platoons out this morning for a 5 mile run in 36 mins which included a a bit stretching so looking at 33 - 34, mins plus the first 2 miles was into a hideous wind.
