Correct.

Those successful in passing P-company and finishing depot go to brize and do 8 Low level jumps from a C-130 (it was 8 last time i heard). On your final jump you walk off the DZ and get awarded your wings.

No idea how long its been going on for mate. Much better than getting it back in Brize.

Its always a treat walking off the DZ at Weston. Especially if you are 1st man out the door....longer walk!!

I think that you will find that the presentation of your wings is as old as the Regiment

Tab, the point he was getting at is that you used to get presented your wings back at Brize rather than walking off the DZ.

Legendary series.

Just makes you want to go out and thrash yourself on a run. Well, it made me do that before i started depot anyway.

Some of the characters on there are awesome. The PTI is just typical. "i want 100 percent on every PT session. If you give me all your percent, all your effort i can give you all my effort to get you fit!" It makes no difference how much "percent" you put in, your going to get thrashed either way. Of course, you need to give it everything to stand the best chance of being fit enough to pass p-company.

When we got our wings we were all photographed standing in front of a Hastings aircraft, every group went through this and the photo's are still held at the No 1 Parachute Training School at Brize Norton. When I was at Brieze Norton in 2007 I went through the books of photographs and found my old course and got a copy of this photo. Also there was a small parade and our wings were presented to us on the parade. Some colonel or Brigadier walk down the lines of men shaking your hand and giving you your wings
